A much manipulated image (based ultimately on this however) using at least three different packages, countless layers and at least half a dozen different filters!

I changed the title of this image after re-reading the book of the same name by Anne McCaffrey. The figure and the landscape match the descriptions of the planet Ballybran in the book so well, (in my minds eye anyway) that the image could have been made for that purpose - except that the figure comes from a slide taken in Morocco before the book was written!

Derived from a photograph I took many years ago at an air display over the beach in Whitley Bay, Northumberland.

The 'star' effects are serendipitous and I have no idea how they emerged.
