Photo shows teenager helping her family in process of re-planting of rice, they have to work carefully not to damage the roots therefore working bent backs with un-gloved hands and taking rest very often.

Dressed in hoody and baseball caps - the next generation of rice farmers.

The carabao (Filipino: kalabaw; Malay: kerbau) or Bubalus bubalis carabanesis is a domesticated subspecies of the water buffalo (Bubalus bubalis) found in Thailnd, the Philippines, Guam, and various parts of Southeast Asia. Carabaos are typically associated with farmers, being the farm animal of choice for pulling the plow and the cart used to haul farm produce to the market. True Wild Asian Water Buffalo or Wild Asiatic Water Buffalo is an endangered species, it is thought to survive in Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Bhutan and Thailand. It is a large ungulate and a member of the bovine subfamily and the ancestor of all the abundant Domestic Asian Water buffalo varieties and breeds which have descended from it. The carabao is considered a national symbol of the Philippines.

This was taken late June during the re-planting of rice seedlings, by now the stalks should be golden and bending over ready for the harvest, but not in this field, due to the un-eveness of rain, excessive rain, fields are either flooded or simply no harvest this year, no rice, no money... he'll have to go and find work in the big city instead. A street in the city of Udon Thani, a region known as "Issan" which is adjacent to the Mekong River of Indochine. It is home to ancient fossils and dinosaurus bones as well as 2 UNESCO World Heritage Site locations, Ban Chiang Archaeological Site บ้านเชียง and Phuphrabat Historical Park.

The choice of a plastic dino to market modern day consumables therefore seems acceptable to this area.

This is converted from an RGB shot into b&w using the method known as "reverse blue", meaning (-100 or less) of the blue channel. Can also be described as cross-processing, because of the independent adjustments of the rgb channels in the conversion.

Photo taken during harvest time, in the ricefields of village known as Ban Donwai, about 6 km outside of city of Udon Thani, N.E. Thailand.

Picture here shows the oldest women in the village, aged 87 offering her blessings, but as the same time, a fly landed on her arm, according to thai beliefs of re-incarnation - this could well be one of the relatives from the past!
