An old (RAW) image ("not THAT one AGAIN!") that I finally had a chance (with some guidance, thanks Ramona!) to play with & tidy up properly in PhotoShop recently...

It's Sunday morning here, been raining a lot lately, nothing new to upload this week, so I'm mentally revisiting, & getting lost in, Iceland, again...

This sublime aural wonder became my essential background music on the rare occasions my pal Chris parted with his iPod long enough to let me use it! It was by an Icelandic composer I'd never heard of before, Jóhann Jóhannsson so my instant attraction to it, as I stood surrounded for the first time too by all that unforgettable Icelandic landscape, was in itself unforgettable too...

Viðey (sometimes written Videy) is the largest island of the Kollafjörður Bay in Iceland, near the capital of Reykjavík.

It is the location of the Imagine Peace Tower, which is a "Tower of Light" envisioned and built by Yoko Ono, widow of the late Beatle John Lennon. According to the Associated Press: "The tower is a beam of light, radiating from a wishing well bearing the words "imagine peace" in 24 languages. The plan is for it to be lit each year between his birthday, October 9, and December 8."

In the shadow of the towering Hallgrimskirke in Reykjavik , literally and figuratively, is the Einar Jonsson Museum, which was closed when I found it. Luckily though, the entrance gate was ajar to the Sculpture Garden in front of the Museum's entrance. With not a soul around, the athmosphere was enchanting. With that perfect "all day long late afternoon" Icelandic November light for taking photos, I was quietly excited.

Walking around the garden's paths in the peace and quiet was exhilarating. I felt as if I were living in a dream, where the real world was held at bay, while I slowly transformed the physical world I was viewing into a timeless virtual memory.

No processing at all, at all, to be sure...

At Geysir in Island in glorious mid-November afternoon Sun. Only processing was a crop. The best light in the World, probably, well the best I've seen so far. The Sun hangs low in the sky from dawn till dusk at this time of year...it's a photographer's dream!

I now shoot in RAW, so with luck, I'll replace this with a much crisper version later...
