Děčín Castle. In the 16th century, the original Romanesque and Gothic Premyslid fortress was rebuilt into a Renaissance castle. After 1669, a Baroque reconstruction was accomplished and a new access road (the Long Ride Lane) built. A Baroque Rose Garden with its Sala Terrena from 1678 also belongs to the castle grounds. Another reconstruction dating from the 1790s gave the castle its contemporary Classicist look. From 1932, the castle was used as military quarters. A stay of the occupying Soviet Army from 1968 to 1991 caused vast damage to the castle. Nowadays, a new extensive reconstruction proceeds. The State District Archive, Tourist Information Centre and exposition of Děčín District Museum are placed in rebuilt parts of the castle. Similarly, the Rose Garden and castle chapel are open to the public.

Uherské Hradiště, Zlín Region, Czech Republic 2009

Historie města Uherské Hradiště sahá daleko do minulosti. Existují doklady o tom, že již ve starší době kamenné bylo území dnešního města osídleno a to hlavně díky své ideální poloze s mírnými klimatickými podmínkami, úrodnou půdou a v neposlední řadě také řece Moravě. Na tomto území byla kdysi křižovatka významných obchodních cest, také díky tomu vznikl v 8. a 9. století důmyslný ostrovní pevnostní systém. Tři, původně pusté, ostrovy se staly útočistěm mnoha slovanských obyvatel a jejich centrem se stal tzv. Svatojiřský ostrov. Název ostrova je odvozen od kaple sv. Jiří, která na něm tehdy stála. Obydlené území (dnešní Uherské Hradiště, Staré Město a Sady) bylo centrem Velkomoravské říše. Jednalo se o mocenské, kulturní i náboženské centrum celé říše. Po jejím rospadu ale význam tohoto území pominul.

L'école maternelle est le fleuron du système éducatif français.
Ces photos ont été réalisées dans les années 1970, pendant plusieurs séances. Elles ont été exposées à la fête de l'école. Les apprentissages fondamentaux sont restés les mêmes aujourd'hui. Les parents, pressés de voir leurs enfants lire, écrire et compter, sous-estiment souvent l'importance des apprentissages relatifs au développement de la fonction symbolique (dessin, peinture, jeu symbolique, ..) qui préparent l"acquisition de la lecture et de l'écriture. Sa fonction de socialisation et d'intégration est devenue encore plus indispensable aujourd'hui avec les développements du multiculturalisme, des familles recomposées, des familles monoparentales, du chômage et de la grande précarité. C'est le seul moment de la scolarité des enfants français où l'on prend en compte toutes les dimensions de l'enfant (éducation civique en actes, développement de la créativité, expression corporelle et gestuelle, travaux manuels, expression orale, .....). Ces enseignants ont une tâche aussi complexe que les instituteurs de l'école primaire.

I met this boy last Saturday on a ghat along the Ganges in Varanasi (Benaras).
He asked for a picture, I did several and I showed him, then he asked for chocolate and I gave him a candy which was kept in my pocket.
Deep in his eyes there is my reflection as I was holding the camera.
