The Deutsche Reichsbahn's Class 52 was the most-well known of the so-called Kriegslokomotiven or Kriegsloks (war locomotives), a class of 2-10-0 German steam locomotive built in large numbers during the Second World War. They were a wartime development of the pre-war DRG Class 50, designed down to use less expensive materials. They were designed by Wagner who was Chief Engineer of the Central Design Office at the Locomotive Standards Bureau of the DRG. About a dozen classes of locomotive were referred to as Kriegslokomotiven, however the three main classes were the Class 50, Class 52 and Class 42. (Source: Wikipedia)

Heute beenden wir nun unsere Wanderung endgültig!
Von der Teufelsmühle aus gibt es zwei Möglichkeiten zum Ausgangspunkt der Wanderung zurückzukommen - eine rund 20 minütige Wanderung nach Oybin oder eine Fahrt mit der Schmalspurbahn. Direkt an der Teufelsmühle befindet sich ein Haltepunkt. Gegen die Schmalspurbahn spricht jedoch der relativ hohe Fahrpreis im Verhältnis zur sehr kurzen Fahrstrecke! Und wenn man Glück hat (oder den Fahrplan kennt) fährt ein Zug an den Wandernden vorbei, wie hier auf diesem Bild!

Lokportrait der IK Nr.54, aufgenommen in Jöhstadt bei der Preßnitztalbahn. Dieser Loktyp kam ab 1882 auf allen sächsischen Schmalspurbahnen zum Einsatz. Diese Lok hier ist jedoch Baujahr 2009! Sie wurde nach alten Unterlagen nachgebaut.

Am Wochenende war die neu gebaute IK Nr.54 erstmals planmäßig vor Zügen im Einsatz zu erleben. Dies war für mich Anlaß zu einem Kurzausflug ins Preßnitztal. Die Lok fahren zu sehen ist nicht nur eine Augenweide, auch die Ohren bekommen ordentlich was zu hören!

... habe ich diesen Zug aufgenommen. Dies dürfte die wohl bekannteste und beliebteste Fotostelle an der Weißeritztalbahn sein. Normalerweise kommt die Lok dort mächtig dampfend um die Ecke, geht es doch am Bahnhof sofort in eine mächtige Steigung. Am 17.08.2009 hat mir das Zugpersonal den gefallen aber nicht getan.
