The Malenisko Pilgrimage Site

Those who follow the way of the cross, fashioned by Emil Brendl, will reach the 18th-century Church of Our Lady of the Snows at Malenisko. There is a painting of the nursing Virgin Mary on the main altar, which attracts numerous pilgrims to the church. A spring of curative water is located not far from the church.

The town Kroměříž arose and developed in a place with advantages geographical situation and very agreeable natural conditions on the flat bank area of the river Morava flow. Eastwards it opened to the fruitful central Morava region, the other hilly surroundings created a natural border of the original settlements of people. The valley cuts in the hills limited the creation of natural ways on which market ways and paths were created in early historical times. Their contribution for Kroměříž and its environment was only an economical one. They were ways of meeting, mutual enriching and mixture of cultural streams and influences. The centre of Moravia not only in the geographical sense, is situated right here.

Kroměříž grew in a fruitful agricultural landscape. An unknown author of the ethnical map of the Haná Region from the break of 18th and 19th century descripted Kroměříž near the southern border of the area, called "Terra Promissa vulgo Sacra Hana". But the history of Kroměříž passed other ways than it was in many similar Bohemian and Moravian towns. The town, absorbing progress and contributing to it by own effort, has become a centre of spiritual culture and arts. Its place in culture and way of life has a similar character as its situation in the countryside, it is a centre opened to all sides.

Schlosspark

Aus dem ursprünglichen Obst-, Gemüse und Blumengarten, welcher im 15. Jahrhundert das Schloss versorgte, und nach dem Umbau im Barockstil nach dem Dreißigjährigen Krieg, da der Garten einen Eintrittsraum in die bischöfliche Residenz bildete, wurde infolge der Weiterentwicklung ein Landschaftspark mit einer Fläche von 64 ha. Teiche, Wasserläufe, romantische Bauten, eine reiche Repräsentanz seltener Baumarten aus der ganzen Welt und auch eine Ecke mit belebter Natur, die systematisch seit Ende des 19. Jahrhunderts errichtet wurde, dienen heute sowohl den Stadtbewohnern, als auch den Besuchern, vor allem in heißen Sommertagen. Spaziergänge im Park bieten neue Blicke auch auf die Stadt, die Blumen und Bäume schaffen ein in heutiger Zeit so wichtiges Behagen.

Eliška Krásnohorská (18 November 1847, Prague – 26 November 1926, Prague) was a Czech feminist author. She was introduced to literature and feminism by Karolína Světlá. She wrote works of lyric poetry and literary criticism, however, she is usually associated with children's literature and translations, including works by Pushkin and Byron.

Krásnohorská wrote the libretti for several operas by Bedřich Smetana: The Kiss, The Secret, The Devil's Wall and Viola.

Historie města Český Krumlov

Jméno města Krumlov je odvozováno z německého výrazu "Krumme Aue", který je překládán jako "Křivý luh". Tento název byl odvozen z přírodních podmínek, konkrétně z tvaru území, na němž se město rozkládá - to leží v esovitě zakřivených meandrech řeky Vltavy. Na latinských listinách je nazýváno Crumlovia či Crumlovium. První zmínka je zachována v písemnosti z roku 1253, kde je Krumlov označován coby Chrumbenowe.

Český Krumlov est un joyau architectural unique. Preuve de son importance, la ville a été inscrite sur la liste du patrimoine culturel mondial de l'UNESCO en 1992.
L'étonnante ville de Český Krumlov est blôtie dans la profonde vallée d’un des méandres de la Vltava au sud de la Bohême. La cité ainsi que le château fort et le château datent pour l'essentiel du 16ème siècle : ce dernier est le deuxième complexe castral le plus important du pays après le Château de Prague.

Siège des puissants seigneurs de Rožmberk, l'ensemble comprend plusieurs bâtiments, une célèbre salle de carnaval, un théâtre baroque unique, récemment ouvert au public, un jardin avec une fontaine rococo, le jardin d'été Bellarie avec un auditorium pivotant, où sont organisés des spectacles de théâtre. La basilique Saint-Guy, chef d'œuvre gothique du sud de la Bohême, domine la ville.

La cité offre une impressionnante palette de manifestations culturelles : le Festival international de musique, le Festival de musique de la Renaissance, des représentations théâtrales dans le jardin du château, les Festivités de la rose à cinq pétales pendant l’été, des expositions au Centre Egon Schiele.

Obec Štípa

Pohorská vesnice ležící v severovýchodní části Vizovických vrchů. Její jméno je zřejmě odvozeno od začátku původního osídlení u panské stěpnice (v Štípí, v Štípů, "v háji Štípem zvaném"). První domky byly postaveny po obou stranách potoka. Už od začátku tvořily obec patrně dvě osady (nebo části), Horní (Hrubá) a Dolní Štípa. Osídlení kolem kostela je pozdější. Obě osady byly roztaženy na délku více než dvou kilometrů. Z dřívější doby se zachovaly i některé místní názvy tratí: Na rytířovém, Na dvořisku, U dvora, Na výpustě (nebo jen Výpusta), V cihelně, Ve žleboch, Hluboká cesta, Ježovsko, Střeběcko, Prokles, Ostřice, Úlehle, Čup, Dolečka, Nad chříbem, Nad kocůrem, U trojáku. Části obce u kostela se donedávna říkalo Malá Praha. Částí Štípy je i Lešná, kde se nachází secesní zámek a ZOO. Nad Štípou ke Hvozdné stojí o samotě větrný mlýn.
