I just adore the rooftop in front of our studio. It is a constant landing and lift off place for London's gulls, since the Thames isn't too far away.

La ville de Zlín est l’une des villes les plus importantes de Moravie centrale. L'année 1894 a marqué un tournant dans l’histoire de cette ville, étant l’année de la fondation par Tomáš Baťa de sa première usine de chaussures.

De Zlín (79 000 Ew.) Construit de Tomáš Bat'a (1876-1932) un empire mondial de la chaussure. Dont le siège se trouve aujourd'hui au Canada, depuis 1992, mais aussi dans Zlín de chaussures de la marque Bat'a produit. A voir, à côté du Musée de la chaussure (April-Okt. mar-dim, nov-mars mar-ven 10-12 et 13-17 heures) à l'usine de Svit les résidences pour les travailleurs de 20 et les années 30. Dans le château est le Muzeum jihovýchodní Moravy (Südostmährisches Heimatmuseum).

Velké náměstí Kroměříž je srdcem historické části města Kroměříž. Bylo založeno olomouckým biskupem Brunem ze Schauenburgu v druhé polovině 13. století jako nové tržiště o rozloze 1 ha. Dominantou náměstí je barokní mariánský sloup, který byl postaven po morové epidemii v roce 1680. Zajímavá je také kašna z roku 1655 vybudovaná jako součást vodovodního systému města. Nejvýznamnější budovou na náměstí je radnice. Měšťanské a kapitulní domy s podloubími si dodnes povětšinou dochovaly raně barokní fasády i typickou renesanční dispozici.

Zlín, the administrative center of the Zlín region, lies along the river Dřevnice in a mild climatic area of southeastern Moravia. It is also a crossroad for the ethnographic boundaries of the Wallachian, Hana and Moravian Slovak regions. This region of 590,000 inhabitants became famous for more reasons than its advantageous location.

The city is famous as the birthplace of the founder of the colossal Bata Shoe Empire, Thomas Bata, where his company flourished in the first half of the 20th century. One facet of the city's character is its one-of-a-kind functionalist architecture. In 2001 a new university the Thomas Bata University was founded in Zlín. The city is the seat for several government centers, as well as for cultural and social institutions. Zlín holds many meaningful congresses, mainly in medical professions.

New constructions, restored façades and streets all give the visitor a refreshing first impression of the city. The Dřevnice River Valley, across which Zlín spreads out, is lush and green. Just walking through the city is an unforgettable experience. Those who truly know Zlín also know why it has fascinated many of its visitors and why very few of its inhabitants move away.

Rathaus Napajedla
Die Stadt Napajedla (deutsch Napajedl) mit 7686 Einwohnern (1. Januar 2003) befindet sich in der Region Zlínský kraj (Tschechien).

Die Stadt befindet sich in der landschaftlich schönen Region, an der Grenze zwischen Haná, Valašsko und Slovácko, die als Napajedel Tor bezeichnet wird. Napajedl war bereits in der Frühgeschichte ein strategisch wichtiger Ort war, der sich auf einem Handelsweg zwischen den baltischen Staaten und Mittelmeer befand.

Erstmals schriftlich erwähnt wurde Napajedl 1362. Der Ort gehörte lange Zeit dem Adelsgeschlecht Žerotín und von Rottal. Die Herren von Stockau richteten während ihrer Herrschaft in Napajedl Kurhäuser ein, die vor allem von der Wiener Gesellschaft besucht wurde.
