Capitale de la Moravie, Brno (en allemand : Brünn) est la deuxième plus grande ville de la République tchèque avec une population de 390 000 habitants, et est située au confluent des rivières Svitava et Svratka.

Le monument le plus connu de la ville est la Villa Tugendhat, construit par Ludwig Mies van der Rohe dans les années 1920. Cet exemple de l'architecture moderne a été inscrit sur la liste du patrimoine mondial de l'UNESCO en 2002.

Brno possède un aéroport situé à Brno-Tuřany (code AITA : BRQ).

Barokní hřbitov ve Střílkách je unikátní architektonickou památkou, která se nikde jinde v České republice nebo střední Evropě nevyskytuje. Hřbitov byl vystavěn na ploše zhruba 2000 metrů čtverečních jako ucelený umělecký celek.

The Cemetery in Střílky
This unique Baroque cemetery, founded between 1730 and 1743, owes its existence to Antonín Amand of Petřvald. Located on a slope near a church built by Christof Maywald, the cemetery features a squareshaped ground plan, statues fashioned by Bohumír Frič, guardian angels (one resembles Michelangelo`s David) and allegorical figures of Virtues and Vices, all scattered over an area of 2,000 square metres. There are also stone vases symbolizing the sky, the hell, death and the Last Judgement.

The cathedral of St. Lawrence with Radovan's portal at the entrance are the most famous Town monuments. The cathedral, called St. John among local citizens, is the highest building in Trogir, dominating the area. Built on foundations of old basilica which was destroyed after Saracens attack 1123, cathedral has been building for four centuries. It is a three-part Romanic-Gothic basilica with three half circle aphides and vestibule above which bell-tower is erected.

Malenovice a Pohořelice koupil roku 1804 od hraběnky Marie Antonie Černínové Leopold I., člen konopištské větve staročeského rodu Šternberků. Jeho manželkou byla Karla Walseggová. Po synu Jaroslavovi se jim narodil syn Leopold II. Šternberk, jehož manželkou se stala o 29 let mladší Louisa, rozená kněžna z Hohenlohe (nar. 21. 8. 1840). Tato prodlévala v roce 1871 na letním pobytu v Kammer am Attersee v Solnohradsku. Při nedělní mši svaté v nedalekém Schörflingu viděla v kostele tři sestry svatého Kříže. Na její dotaz jí místní farář vyprávěl o jejich činnosti u dívčí mládeže, u dětí a u nemocných. Zatoužila mít tyto sestry na svém panství v Malenovicích. Poslala generální představené Matce Marii Terezii Schererové do švýcarského Ingenbohlu prosbu o sestry. Bylo jí brzy vyhověno. Dne 14. května 1872 přijely do Malenovic tři sestry, aby sloužily chudým, nemocným a dětem. Byly to: sestra Elekta Kaltenbachová, narozená roku 1836 v německém Furtwangenu, naposled působící v rakouském Schörflingu, a dvě novicky v Čech, sestra Odilo Falgeová, narozená roku 1851 ve Vrchlabí a sestra Alžběta Zinkeová, narozená roku 1842 v Broumově.
