I have read the book whose cover appears (in pieces) in this image.

China has NO claim on Tibet.

China's latest outrageous actions since WWII and especially now (no journalists are allowed in Tibet so we have no idea what is really happening), including blaming the Dalai Lama for instigating the protests (which he says he has not. He has offered to resign his temporal powers in the exiled government of Tibet), make me furious, esp. after reading this book.

Read it. Make up your own mind.

It's a great book.

If you are not inclined to read, see "Seven Years in Tibet", available on DVD, based on the book by one of the Dalai Lama's only non-Tibetan tutors whose life and attitudes were transformed by his experiences wwith the young Dalai Lama. It's a great movie (Brad Pitt) and it also tells a great story.

This is a little carving (1-1/2") of a Zuni horse carved from some beautiful jaspar. It was sent to us by Ed's Aunt Pat who lives in the Santa Cruz Mountains.

She, her husband Lou, their daughter and son-in-law collect (as in go out and dig for them!) sell and trade crystals, rocks, minerals, etc. She came across this at a trade show in southern Sierra Nevada and bought it for us!
