My long-time friend and confidante, Anna von Schlapdasch, was an early devotee of the 1960s dance "The Twist", and would often embarrass her escorts by her enthusiastic movements. This photograph was taken in a nightclub in Antibes, in 1962. I forget the name of her "young man", but I think he may have been from Venezuela. It didn't last long . . . none of them ever did!

This is one of his favorite sexy dresses. The detail is the trim around the cabbage leaf edges - that is a sewing term. It had a halter neck, no bra, and abstract patterned Latvian material. So light weight, and checks, it blows in his wind. It took a long time to make the dress, as he kept putting on weight, and then losing some, and then putting some more on, and then losing more!
He is wearing a vintage hairdo - a Gibson Girl. It was very pretty. He liked to look sexy, especially when he went to Mass. How is that possible, you ask? Well in Ashland (Ohio), where he lived, it was ok. But first he would tie a striped pashmina around his shoulders in a pussy cat bow to cover the plunging neckline. This made it modest and very much like a lady. As he was walking up to the altar rail, he passed the priest's house-keeper, and she said, " Oh, what a beautiful dress".
