I haven't been uploading for a while, keeping up with real life work and flckr and other net activities seems to be filling up most of my time.

This is one of my favorite shot. although i posted this a while back in flickr i'm reposting it here.

There is a story about the great impressionist painter Claude Monet (1840-
1926) that throws light on this different relation to the ego. On Monet’s eightieth
birthday, a photographer from Paris visited him, wanting to take pictures of
him. But Monet said coolly, “Come back next Spring and take pictures of my
flowers in the garden, they look more like me than I do.” A mystical answer!
Becoming egoless does not begin with the superego’s demands or rituals of
purification but in the amazing sharing of the one life that is in everything.

“Go where you are nothing!”

Egolessness is not a task to be performed; initially, it is happiness; the flowers
in the garden really do resemble Monet more than his photo! A greater freedom
is possible, fear and inconsolability fall away and, yes, consciousness, this
needy individual being, recedes. “My soul was so captivated and delighted
that I had no thought about my own salvation, and scarce reflected that there
was a creature such as myself,” writes an 18th-century man about a moment of
mystic rapture. (William James, Varieties of Religious Experience, 1929, p.210)
Egocentricity melts away before the sun of mystical union.

From that almost sunset shot at Klong Muang, we drove out to pick up mom at the Krabi airport.. but we.. got lost, I missed a turn and overshoot to this road. As we drove, we saw the sky shifting color, more dramatic and saturated right before our eyes.. Late as we were, but i had to stop the car and take a quick shot. Just to say that this is what we saw. That was, by far, the prettiest road-ride-to-the-sunset-experience i've ever had. What adds to the drama is the limestone cliff on both sides of the road, leaving a narrow condence view of the sky. We just keep on saying. oh my god repetitively. and i'm sharing that god with you now.

umm. It was more dramatic in the car and moving along though. :]

Had to look for a room, so we stop at this so claimed "Thailand Tourism Award 2006 for outstanding resort in the southern region" From looking around, it was well deserved. They have tastefully blend east and western design style into a flowing villa type resort.. They offer 44 accommodation room with stylish interiors and bathrooms open to the sky. Other service includes a free-form swimming pool, gourmet restaurant, bars, day spa and other recreational facilities. Hmm.. i'm sounding like a travel agent promoting the place now. hehe

Well, i'll let the picture do the talking. how's that.

Just a note, they sure didn't put in much design effort for their website as they did in the interior. It looks pretty tacky for a nice place, at least all the essential information is there.

This was taken from a car while driving (slowly ofcourse). I've got a straight shot, but i like this tilted one more.

"The Trang area was the first area of Thailand where rubber trees were planted, brought there by governor Phraya Ratsadanupradit Mahison Phakdi from Malaysia in 1899."

Today, Thailand is the world’s largest producer and exporter of natural rubber, accounting for approximately 35 of the world’s natural rubber production. Thailand produce between 1,800kg and 1,900kg per hectare a year. Although Thailand is a major producer of natural rubber, almost 90 percent of the production is exported as raw rubber or latex. Only 10 percent of the production is used by thai manufacturers to produce finished goods..

Trang's city slogan "The city of Phraya Rasda; broad-hearted citizens; delicious roasted pork; origin of Para rubber; lovely Sri Trang flower; beautiful coral reefs; charming sandy beaches; and wonderful waterfalls. " Based on my experience, so far, its all true.
