Here's a little "behind the scenes" if this image:

Now what have i done:
check layers from bottom to top
1. took the original shot with a flashlite to get more details and contrast from the start
2. duplicated the original and added saturation to make the face look more red
3. duplicated the layer again and desaturated it alot (almost gray)
4. added a layer mask to this layer and only let the eye-part and fingernails shine trough to make them appear bloodyred and torn
5. another layer with a hard contrast, layer mask to make these parts only appear in some certain areas
6. to make my skin look older i added some bark (skin from a tree) , hard contrast but opacity of 30% only , selective areas
7. the background layer, all black to kill disturbing reflections and unwanted elements, focus=face
8. some glow / blurry highlights to add to the atmosphere
9. add a frame, thought it'd look better than let my forehead end up there in nothingness (dirty trick)
10. flatten all layers except the red face one and desaturare everything once more
11. that's it
12. save and upload... :)

altogether just a lot of playing around with masks and curves.

i made a screencast of this as well (but it's too big i think...)

i was in the mood to throw an SP into PS and play with some things, intensify contrast to point out the lines, pores, scars, hair, wrinkles,... , use blur against sharpness on several layers and crop so that the intensity comes through...

extremism helps accepting self sometimes.
seeing things clearer, ...
some will understand.

We were out for a long walk through a forest in the "Siebengebirge" in Bonn today. I made 266 pictures. ;-) Here are some of them... Most will be uninteresting for you i believe but some are nice in my opinion.

Day 26 / 365: Today organic and paper garbage is being collected

This is more a question to all you non-germans than a self-portrait. Still a contribution to the 365 and the Step into my world-pool.

We separate garbage here for recycling.
Today "Biomüll" (brown garbage can) and "Papier" (big green garbage can) is being collected. Also see the colors in the calendar. There is also "Gelber Sack" ( yellow sack ) in which we put things like plastic packages, polystyrene etc and "Restmüll" ( gray can / calendar rows ) in which we put... "the rest". Empty bottles and glass we have to take to a glass-container which is mostly positioned next to a mall / supermarket or so.

How is that where you live?
How often do they come get the garbage? Do you separate?
