View from le Tête des Faux. As peacefull it may look today, much blood was spilled on the Tete des Faux in the winter of 1914/15. Early skirmishes gained the French a precarious foothold; furious attack and counter-attack followed with specialist mountain troops contesting the snow-covered heights in temperatures well below freezing. After a final abortive attempt to take the summit on 21st February 1915, the Germans cut their losses and concentrated on strengthening their positions on the lower slopes. As attrition set in, the battle shifted to the neighbouring heights of La Ligne and Veil Armand.

The KKL Luzern was built in record time, five years, between 1995 and 2000. The work of French architect Jean Nouvel and American acoustician Russell Johnson replaced Armin Meili’s (1933/34) building. The construction is divided into three parts and made up of the Concert Hall, a multifunctional hall (the Lucerne
Hall) as well as the Convention Center where the Lucerne Museum of Art is also located.
In the few years since its construction, the KKL Luzern has acquired an international reputation.
This is thanks to the exceptional architecture and by the fact that it houses, from the acoustical point of view, one of the best concert halls in the world.

B. "I need a handkerchief, where's my handkerchief"?
me: "You have one in your hand".
B. "No, i haven't".
me: "Yes you have, it's in your other hand".
B. "That's weird, a moment ago it was in that other hand!"
me: "That's what we call magic".
B. "But it still isn't in the other hand!"
me: "That's right, you just dropped it on the floor".
B. "Oh? How could that happened?"
me. "No problem, here it is".
B. "Thanks, but i won't use it".
me: "Oh? I thought you needed a handkerchief."
B. "Yes i did, but it will get sloppy and that's the only one i got".
me: "Don't worry, you have another 29 handkerchiefs, you can use it, no problem".
B. "29 handkerchiefs?? Why the heck do i need 29 handkerchiefs for?"
me: "That's because you loose them all the time".
B. "Me? I don't loose them, oh no! You always put them away where i can't find them!"
me: "We always keep them next to your bed on the night table".
B. "That's where i keep them, so you don't have to look for them".
me: "Yes, you're right, how could i forget that?"

B. "But i need a handkerchief now".
