We were told Wednesday to expect some light snow with no accumulation...this is what we woke up to on Thursday morning!!! Baton Rouge got 3", and where I live we got FIVE!!!!!!!!!!

Of course, it wasn't all fun. It snowed for hours, and, as it accumulated, you could hear the tree limbs cracking and falling all over. By 8:30 A.M. I was without power, and it didn't come back on till 4:00 yesterday afternoon.

It was worth it, though...*+^

note: This shot was taken around 7 a.m. as I was putting stuff in the truck, getting ready to leave for work...I didn't make it...^+^

Actually, I didn't care if they were biting or not because I was too busy trying to find some settings that worked...{=P

I lightened this one up as best I could in Photoshop, but it really was quite dark for taking pictures on the move at the time!

The whole object of the trip was to catch as many of these little fellows as possible! Even though my partners caught about 30 Brim, like the one shown, they really weren't biting very much. These little guys aren't a very big fish, but they are mighty tasty...^+^

Around the edge of the lake you could peer into the swamps beyond, and, although they stayed just out of reach of my lens, there were LOTS of Egrets milling about in the shallow waters, hunting and catching fish.

I saw this while I was working in Brusly and eating lunch at a local grocery store. It was back in October and super bright, but I've always liked how this came out. You see homes all along the River Road that look like this, with the screened porches and awnings to get out of the Louisiana heat.

We celebrated Mother's Day a day early because of everyone's schedules. I must admit that for his first crawfish boil, my stepson did a fabulous job with the cooking!!!!

There's just no keeping the flies away from a crawfish boil....fans help, but they are mighty persistent when there are mounds of crawfish on the table!!
