OK, I know I said that I'd posted my last Hummer shot of the season, but when the Aloe plant started it's last bloom cycle and this little guy decided he liked it more than the sugar water in the feeder...well, I just couldn't resist...^+^

This is a shot from a glorious morning of picture-taking that I had the other day. I was chasing this wonderful light all around the yard before it disappeared. Unfortunately, I was having such a good time that I really wasn't paying much attention to my technique, so only a few shots even came out well enough to keep.

I had a great time, though!!!

The Water Oaks in my yard are still putting out fresh young leaves at the end of the branches. I love the yellowish and red-tinged color of them compared to the dull green of the more matured leaves of the tree.

When the Sago Palm's new fronds uncurl, I can't walk by without being drawn in by their alluring mystery. Day by day they shift and change so that they present a different look or mood every time you look. When you spot something that you like, you'd best shoot it then, because tomorrow it won't look the same.

Using the wrong white balance setting can sometimes change the whole mood of a shot. These Sago Palm fronds should actually be deep green, but I like this much better...^+^

We were told Wednesday to expect some light snow with no accumulation...this is what we woke up to on Thursday morning!!! Baton Rouge got 3", and where I live we got FIVE!!!!!!!!!!

Of course, it wasn't all fun. It snowed for hours, and, as it accumulated, you could hear the tree limbs cracking and falling all over. By 8:30 A.M. I was without power, and it didn't come back on till 4:00 yesterday afternoon.

It was worth it, though...*+^

note: This shot was taken around 7 a.m. as I was putting stuff in the truck, getting ready to leave for work...I didn't make it...^+^
