Celebrations for the Patron Saint of Siena (Sant'Ansano) always include the participation of all Contrade ("Districts").
From the 1970's, the 1st of December is considered the Contradas' New Year's Day, Palio-wise. But, in reality, the Spring is still far ahead...

Yet another border, where the Contrada Priora della Civetta and the Contrada del Drago meet. Exactly where the "Grattacielo" ("skyscraper", nickname of typical sienese a winery, so called as the roof is so low that you can "scrape" it) is.

This picture of a dragon (Drago) is in an internal courtyard of a palazzo in via del Paradiso in Siena. The symbol of the Contrada del Drago (Dragon district) is portraited on a fresco above the entrance to a private house. Internally to it, a small altar with a relief nativity is at the end of the main entrance corridor. As it wasn't a church, it must have been a private altar for the family living here.

This is the baptism fountain of the "Contrada del Drago" in Siena. The baptism, a relatively recent institution (1947, first in the Chiocciola) is not a Catholic one, but a civil "blessing" that confirms a newborn in the community for the rest of his life.
The small coloured ball is a "barbero", sienese word for "horse" (probably from "berberian"). This is a popoular game among sienese children, who still play the "palio dei barberi" in the streets of their Contrada.
