This song is based on a true story which was published in the Palestine Monitor about a Palestinian refugee from the city of Haifa who went to visit the home of his birth and met the Jewish refugees from Iraq who were living there.
It is a heart wrenching story. I could hardly hold my tears back.
Yesterday I gave a lecture with another peace activist (about the history and situation in Palestine-Israel) and he played this song at end of his presentation. A veteran who was stationed in the DMZ in Korea was crying.
Yet this song offers hope for the future: one world, one village, one home. No more walls, no more fences, no more borders. Nationalism has brought nothing but misery, destruction, and bloodshed. Will we wake-up from this nightmare soon?
