This is a golf course in Denver shortly after sunrise. Its actually before the first tee time and what I really liked was the sense of the quiet that you can't hear. :-)

Tucked in a corner of the yard of this elementary school are several poles with ceramic objects stacked or strung up to a height of five and a half feet (~ 190 cm ). So that there is no confusion about it, I did not make this!

Surely this is an example of the wisdom of the proverb, "Look before you leap." This was a shooting star until it was captured by the earth and ended up as the cap of this seat. Its not so bad for me though, living in Denver, Colorado, this is probably the closest I'll get to the beach this year! :-)

Thats the mneumonic for remembering which way to move the clocks on the days that everyone (except me I guess) agrees that the time should change. Actually, I'm not sure that is true, May-be everyone isn't burdened with Day Light Saving Time.

I decided to blog the rant that I was developing under this image. You can look there if you're idly interested in what I get cranky about.

This is one of those shots that looks better Big - and I say so even though I always question that very statement when I see it. I guess you'll have to tell me if better means any good at all.

I feel like I should have called around and asked a few more people to leave the lights on in their offices. I would have - wouldn't you?

This is kind of cool - and kind of crazy. All my life I have been focused on not heating the whole outdoors. Yet, here is this gas fired sculpture sitting out in a plaza by a bunch of shops in Winter Park and its nice to sit by it on the benches provided. You can definitely feel the warmth.

In the summer this is a fountain with multiple jets of water and unpredictable discharges that (mostly) kids can run through and play tag with. In the winter its a fun spiral pattern. I was the only 'kid' playing at the fountain this fine February morning.

There's a train that leaves Denver early in the morning and arrives at the Winter Park ski area about the time that the lifts start running. After disgorging its passengers, it moves to a siding in Fraser ( a couple miles away) and sits there until close to the time that the lifts close. Then, it rolls back to Winter Park, picks up its passengers and goes back to Denver.

Its sitting on the siding here. Looking at the line of cars, I'd say that it serves a fair number of passengers. For more specific info go to their web site . I've never tried it, I bet it would be fun.

Winter Park is a popular ski area about an hour and a half from Denver. This is in the Winter Park area and is on the uneasy border of the local/tourist economy.

French Fries, famous BBQ and, most importantly to the little girl at the counter, Ice Cream. You may not be able to tell, but I'm told that old white men all look pretty much the same. I wonder if it is true.

This seems important to me because, the longer I live, the older I get. If I live 20 more years, I may look like the guys in this picture. Another thing that I wonder, is who let that little girl out in shorts to buy Ice Cream when everyone else is dressed like it's cold? - Just Wonderin

OK, that's my little girl and she didn't think it was too cold for shorts. :-)

I've finally ordered some cards from Moo. You get 100 cards per order and each card can have a unique image on it. I laid out some of my cards on a piece of paper and took a photo. That's pretty twisted in a way. This photo is of 26 cards that specially cropped images of photos I've previously posted somewhere on line. So this is some kind of multiple exposure. :-)

Anyway, the neatest thing about these Moo Cards is cropping the images to fit. I was forced to look at my images differently. Some of them seemed brand new.
