That was all I needed yesterday, my exhaust "falling apart". The roads here in Hungary really are not nice to your car.
Threw my planning and timetable off a tiny bit.
In the middle of going somewhere there was all off a sudden that loud noise. Mh, glad I have a phone and glad we have some good friends here in Hungary now. One phone call and twenty minutes later I was at a private car shop, that guy looked at it, we made an appointment for the afternoon and a few hours later all was fixed for 15$.
That was quite nice :)

Now I'm a little bit behind with making a photo book from the kids theater so that book can go around and people can check which pics they want to have and I can order them when I come back from Germany.
I still need to do some cleaning around here and some packing. Besides MAKING that book and deliver it ;)

And what am I doing? Sitting here and look at flickr.

So friends, if I'm not around much now and the next few weeks, I will be back, promise, but Germany will be quite exiting, I think :)

All I needed today is another piece of our household that doesn't cooperate. I needed to check the inside of this briefcase and it did not want to open. My fingers hurt and I was frustrated. After hubby gave me the ok, I could give that poor thing it's deserved payback :)

Why is it, that "they" say, that a woman's power is greatest during the time she's bleeding?
Must have been a man inventing that theory.
I usually feel powerless and vulnerable.
But maybe that's just me.
That theory doesn't really make sense anyway. I'm loosing something, so how can that give me power?
I don't get it.

Wie kommt es, dass "sie" sagen, dass die Kraft einer Frau am groessten ist, wenn sie blutet?
Es muss ein Mann gewesen sein, der diese Theorie erfunden hat.
Ich fuehle mich normalerweise kraftlos und verletzlich.
Aber vielleicht ist das ja nur bei mir so.
Die Theorie macht eh keinen Sinn.
Ich verliere etwas, wie kann mir das Kraft geben?
Ich verstehe es nicht.

It doesn't look so bad here, but trust me, I got scared when lifting that shirt and before that I had to lay down on the bed to close those pants :S

But I really did it.
We got up a bit late today (6.30 a.m.), usually we are already awake that time. I had one cup of coffee to wake up and read a bit.
I went back upstairs in our bedroom and did my little stretching program, some easy sit ups and some easy weights and push ups against the wall for my arms. All not more than 10 minutes, but it’s a start.
After that warm up, I got in my shoes, took the dogs and went for an easy 10 minute run.
Took a shower, washed my hair and had a cereal and more coffee. Too much of that again, but I’m drinking more water too ;)

Activity:
little stretching
easy sit ups (30)
easy weights and push ups against the wall for my arms
(altogether about 10 minutes)
easy 10 minute run
resting on the Couch - uh, wrong category ;)

Food:
1 Banana with 1/2 cup sugar free oat and dried fruit cereal with 1/2 cup of low fat milk
2 pieces of dark bred, one with Tuna salad and one with fresh cheese
1/2 cucumber

Beverage:
4 cups of coffee
1,5 L water
too much red vine

Current weight: 79 Kilos / 173.8 pounds (but that doesn’t really mean anything on that inaccurate scale ;))
14 Kilos / 30.8 pounds to go

I spent my day yesterday looking for a house in our favorite village. The one where "our" fishing lake is.
I was going to look at the house of a friend of ours, which she offered on Saturday. I didn't know if it was a joke or if she was serious.
You know that my Hungarian isn't very great yet and most people don't speak English nor German in this village. But we always get along.
Well. The house seems not to be for sale, not yet that is ;)
But I ended up going with Marta, Istvan and Joszef looking at the houses above.
It's not much money, not at all, but they all need some serious work and most of all: more rooms :)
Well, I will keep looking.
I go for one more today.
Funny that now all off a sudden houses pop up for sale. We waited for an opportunity in this place for half a year ;)

And for all the flickrites out there that live in Hungary: I just have opened up a new Flickr Meet Hungary group :)

First of all, please don't think, I'm a racist or a religious fanatic.

One question is going through my head since quite a while:

Turkey and it's request to join the European Union.

It didn't want to get in my head why they would want to join the European Union. They seem to be quite far away from Europe, was my opinion. But I was way too lazy to look up more about it and kept forgetting it.
But CNN helped me last night to nag me with it and get me going to do some search about this.
It was quite easy to find more information about the early roots of Europe and Turkey on wikipedia.
Here are some links in case you wonder the same thing:

My personal opinion? I really don't know. Turkey seems to be so far away from what Europe meant for me for so many years. Now Europe is getting bigger and bigger and I have to try to catch up with the reasons why all these countries are joining. Not to mention the question, who has joined by now and who already switched over to the Euro.
Now that I get a bit older I also ask questions like: "Why would a country want to join?" or "Why would they allow certain countries to join?"

Live already got a lot more expensive in Germany since the Euro, Hungary got quite a bit more expensive since it joined Europe. Now they are raising all kinds of Taxes and inventing new ones just to finance the switch over to the Euro in 2011 (or even later).
They are thinking about letting countries like Romania in, where living conditions are even worse than here in Hungary.
In the long term the countries might profit from it, but how the people in those countries will survive, I have no idea.

Correct me if I'm wrong with anything and please enlighten me with your knowledge :)
