We would have needed that 6.8 Kilo Beauty yesterday.
Floyd caught it with a baitfish. Somehow the bigger ones like these better then the lurers it seems. Maybe fish DO learn over the years ;)
I fished all afternoon too (with lurers) and had my first hit from a pike, but I lost it. Oh well :)
Now I'm dead tired and will go to bed soon!
Take care out there and see you whenever .... sigh.....!

Trying to make the fish cooperate

That thingy that the referees are giving to the fishermen is for the measurment of the length of the fish.
They (try to) put the fish in there and keep it straight so the referee can take a picture of it.
Later on they will be sorted at the referee desk at "base camp" and the winner will be announced.

We were trying these new Lurers from Salmo and were lucky quite a few times. Floyd caught three Pike off them and I caught my first one.
Pretty cool :)!

Yepp, I am.
I caught my first Pike (Hecht) yesterday.
Only a baby, but nonetheless my first "real" fish caught with a Lurer from Salmo :)

Only had time to download pics from the last few days and upload this one and we are heading out the door again in a few minutes ;)
Have a great weekend - we will enjoy some good fish later again and hopefully some sunshine. But it looks a bit cloudy and cold...oh well :)

This is the biggest pike Floyd has brought in so far (2.8 kilos). Their teeth are quite sharp, so he uses some stuff to get the hook out easier.
This one got released safe and sound.

That guy tried to do a promotion for Flyfishing.
But they choose a bad time to do so. Fortthe fishing and the camera man. There was one guy trying to get some film for Duna TV which had to go against the sun and one guytrying to get pictures for a magazine had to switch to the boat,
But both of them got disappointed anyway, cause that poor guy didn't catch any.
