The second one was taken on a road leading to a tunnel through the mountains. The Northern Lights seemed to show the way :o)

Last night I noticed the Northern Lights could be seen, so I went out and took some pictures. The first one was taken in a cemetery... and I was always expecting to come knocking on my shoulder while I was leaning over the camera :o)

I went to Jökulsárlón to measure the depth of the river, from the lagoon to the shore. The lagoon was filled with icebergs and the smaller ice had washed on the river banks. We had some trouble getting our boat to the river, but finally we made it. I have put some pictures in notes to show how it went :o)

Another picture from the same place, taken with ND-filter. It was quite windy and tiny waves on the sea, but the filter evened it out :o)

There is the rule of thirds and other rules that say that the subject should never be centered. But rules are made for breaking...

Now, when the days are getting shorter and it will be dark all the time, I bought a very dark filter for long exposures. This is the first test, but I'm hoping for some bright days before the winter so I can use it more :o)

The mountain tops are now white from snow and the leaves are getting red, yellow and brown before falling to the ground. My father fell too when hurrying across a slippery road, but he is already feeling better :o)

This rock in Hestfjörður was moved from the shoreline when the road was being built because some people believed elves lived there :o)

I saw this old boat close to where I was working last week. It is an old farm close by and the farmers have probably used this when they went fishing :o)

I was working on a mountain road last week, spraying with white spray in the center of a new road that will be opened soon. But when I woke up yesterday, everything had turned white so I have to hope it will get warm again and we will get some Autumn before winter comes :o)

I took this picture close by the scare crows in the earlier picture. This is Goðafoss, a popular pit stop on the way around Iceland :o)
