The Massachusetts State House in Boston is the seat of government for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

It was designed by Charles Bulfinch as a replacement for the Old State House. The cornerstone was laid by John Hancock. The building was completed on January 11, 1798.

Schloß Nymphenburg, die Sommerresidenz der Wittelsbacher, vom Schloßpark aus gesehen. Hier wurde Ludwig II am 25. August 1845 geboren.

Nymphenburg castle, summer residence of the Bavarian kings, as seen from the park. Ludwig II was born here on August 25, 1845.

Angeblich ist am 22. Dezember Winteranfang. Dieses Bäumchen ist aber offenbar der Meinung, es wäre bereits Frühlingsanfang.

Allegedly, Dec 22 is winter solstice. But this tree is apparently thinking it's spring.

Die Würm bei Starnberg. Der unscheinbare Abfluß des Starnberger Sees hat der letzen Eiszeit im Voralpenland ihren Namen gegeben. Ihr Wasser speist auch den Nymphenburger Kanal.

Mitte April noch immer zugefroren: der Eibsee, gesehen von Deutschlands höchsten Berg, der Zugspitze. Der Zugspitzgipfel war die meiste Zeit von Wolken umgeben, ich mußte lange abwarten, um einen Augenblick mit einigermaßen klarer Sicht zu erwischen.
Mid April and still frozen: lake Eibsee, seen from Germany's highest mountain, the Zugspitze. The summit was in clouds most of the time, I had to wait for minutes until I got a moment of relatively clear sight.
