Seen from the Look Rock observation tower. On the right side you can see some smoke. Every time we come up here, we see smoke at the same place. Maybe there's a factory of some sort?

These photos were taken on the trail up to Look Rock tower last week. Yesterday morning we had a storm with windgusts up to 106 miles (compare to hurricane category 2). Many roads on the Tennessee side of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park are closed because of uprooted trees.

There was no warning for this storm, and the campgrounds in Cades Cove, Elkmont and Cosby were packed. Luckily, only a 6 year old boy got hurt, when a tree fell on his family's camper in Cades Cove.

We hope to go back to the park soon, and take many more pictures of fall's stunning beauty ...
