Last week I went for a three day hiking trip to Kerlingarfjöll (The Giantess Mountains). They are situated between two large glaciers; Hofsjökull and Langjökull.

The Kerlingarfjöll area is one of the largest geothermal areas in all of Europe and is truly a hikers paradise... and a place where fire and ice meet and co-exist :o)

I tried to capture the beauty of the place but I find my photos very lacking in the real atmosphere of the place... the wide spaces, the incredible colours, the sounds, the smell... it is something that has to be experienced :o)

I used to play around that lighthouse as a kid... and climb in the cliffs beneath it :o)

Húsavík harbour

A three photo pano of the harbour. I love the mountain range on the other side of the Skjálfandi fjord... the most beautiful mountain range in Iceland (in my opinion) ;o)

If you look closely you can see one of the whale watching boats, it's name is Knörrinn.

I recommend taking a look at the original size :o)

No Photoshop tricks involved... and no chairs were hurt during the making of the photo... well, not seriously hurt.

I went to a summer house with some good friends over the weekend. The house is situated in a beautiful valley with a lake surrounded my mountains.

Today we took a walk down to the lake, the weather was misty and rainy... but all weather is beautiful in the company of good friends :o)

Paradise panorama

I went on a 5 day hiking trip to the West fjords, to the most remote part of Iceland called Hornstrandir. I'll be uploading a few more photos from the trip, but I wanted to start with a 6 photo panorama of the surroundings. I've geotagged the place where I took the photos :o)

It is a very beautiful but remote place, nobody lives there during the winter, but there are people there during the summer... and hikers of course :o)

Where we stayed there is no electricity, no mobile network (or any network), there are no roads to this place (the last leg of the trip is taken by boat), but it is a paradise of nature and wildlife...

I recommend the original size :o)

I really recommend this one be viewed larger for an "on site" wilderness effect :o)
