It was the perfect night, the perfect weather, the perfect company... and an imperfect and broken lens that was always out of focus on the left side.

For that reason I never posted these photos, they are imperfect photographically... but there is something I really like about them... maybe the nothingness... or the memories :o)

Anyway, since we've had no proper snow this winter, I decided to post my imperfections from February last... because of what I find to be the perfect mood :o)

Went hiking on Sunday morning in a place called Búrfellsgjá. It's a walk along a wide lava channel that was made by a lava flow from the cinder cone Búrfell. This place is a geologists dream ;o

This is the end of the lava channel, looking towards the cinder cone :o)

UPDATE: Thanks to Hafdís for providing me with the right names of things, i.e. Búfell is a cinder cone and Búrfellsgjá is a lava channel. The lava is 8000 years old!

I recommend looking at the original for full impact :o)

Snow covered lava field :o)

Driving home from work, the weather was incredibly bright and beautiful, and everything was covered in new snow from last nights snowfall :o)

LOL, I don't recomment walking through snow covered lava field in high heels! I didn't have time to go home first and change shoes so I had to make do... but I really don't recommend it :D

Yet another one from that night on Bláfjallaleið. Many flaws in this one photographically... (is that a word?)... but such a magical atmosphere that I couldn't resist uploading it ;o)

The lights of Reykjavík colour the clouds over the city orange, creating a strange mix :o)

Cemetery with a view

Went to my brother's place today* to make it a little "christmassy"... put up lights and such :o) This is the view from his little lot on a small hill... the sun lit the mountain Esjan up so beautifully :o)

I'll have to take a photo of the cemetery at night when all the lights are up... it's really something :o)

* to avoid misunderstanding: he does not live next to the cemetery, he passed away in December last year and this is his final resting place :o)
