Imperfect perfection III

It was the perfect night, the perfect weather, the perfect company... and an imperfect and broken lens that was always out of focus on the left side.

For that reason I never posted these photos, they are imperfect photographically... but there is something I really like about them... maybe the nothingness... or the memories :o)

Anyway, since we've had no proper snow this winter, I decided to post my imperfections from February last... because of what I find to be the perfect mood :o)

This is taken at the beach at Hjöleifshöfði cape... there is shelter or some kind of emergency hut there beneath the cliffs (those cliffs are magnificent btw.)

There were all sorts of interesting things inside... an old sweater, toiletpaper, one boot, a thermos can and much, much more :o) Take a peek at the notes... and the original size ;o)

Yet another one from that night on Bláfjallaleið. Many flaws in this one photographically... (is that a word?)... but such a magical atmosphere that I couldn't resist uploading it ;o)

The lights of Reykjavík colour the clouds over the city orange, creating a strange mix :o)

Went out at eleven o'clock last night and stayed out well into the night in the magical world of frost, snow, quiet, moonlight, starlight and good company! :o)

I've been having a photographer's block for the last month or so... but now, since my camera is out for repair, I see photo opportunities everwhere! Go figure!

This photo is taken in April, on a photo tour with some good friends, showing Aurora Borealis and moonshine over the ocean. It is not a real blue hour photo... it's a fake blue ;o) Originally it had dark blue water and green lights in the sky... like here (taken at the same time):

This house stands above the Arnarstapi harbour... it's very special standing there and looking at that light in the night on the top of the cliffs... and the mist around the Stapafell mountain added to the mystique :o)

I really love the evening light here in the summer... this is another photo from my evening with the girls (Ragga, Gurrý and Sigrún) and this is the road we traveled to get to lake Djúpavatn :o)

I really recommend this one be viewed larger for an "on site" wilderness effect :o)

Day after day... alone on the hill

It was a dark and dreary day with fog and rain on my first visit to Krýsuvíkurkirkja (Krysuvik church).
This is a very old church with an overgrown graveyard... the only cross visible is the one on the photo but there are a lot of mounds all around... old graves.

I will have to visit again when the weather is better!

It snowed a lot here today... I took a walk tonight into the backland of Hafnarfjörður. The snow was new, soft and deep and I sank to my knees... I love the quiet there... the only sound is the gurgling of the small river...

Taken last August while hiking the Laugavegur trail... a 3-4 day hike. This is at the beginning of the hike, leaving Landmannalaugar...

The cloud cover was very low as you can see but I love the light of the Icelandic August morning... :o)
