I had this idea a while ago, but never put it into action. Well - here it is: A timelapse recording of my weekly head shave. Thanks to Boinx Software Ltd., who come up with such nice titles as iStopMotion, which I used to record this. Oh, b.t.w.: This will be a part of a bigger project I'm thinking of.
P.S.: The dark spots on my shoulders and forehead are little clusters of cut hair ;-)

Sarah a.k.a. Half Jack tagged me to do a video with 10 facts about me worthwhile knowing. I don't know about the "worthwhile" part, nor the facts, but I do like to be challenged - and when I live up to it, I usually can't stop until it's accomplished. So... you've asked for it, Sarah - and now we all gotta live with it... :P

Well, here we go with my first contribution to Sascha's excellent initiative about sharing songs that tickle our heart in some way. This one here can be safely called my favourite song for many years to come. It is an artistic rendition of the exact life-journey I have embarked on about 3 years back. I realize that the images are totally jumping seasons now, as this one was taken in the fall of 2005. It was the first fall I got to experience here in the wonderful area called Fuenfseenland, located south-west of Munich.
Originally, the song seems to be performed by Vanessa Williams and like with most songs, she might already have done a cover-version of a still older original or something. The version, I'm posting here, is a duet by Phil Perry and possibly his wife, Lillian Tynes Perry - I would have to investigate on this.
I'll be posting the lyrics below and suggest reading along as you listen to the song. This will thoroughly tickle your "romantic bone", I'm sure, so some of us might need to have some tissue at hand... O:-)

Update: After some problems with the video track I had to shrink down the aspect ratio and overall images size, so it would play smoothly. Also, the lyrics I found on the web didn't match everywhere, so I updated them according to what I hear them say.

This one
That one
Each one
Is God's Gift to the world

They are
We are
Each one
Is God's Gift to the world

There are no extra people
In a mansion or a ghetto
From where you start your journey
Anywhere you'll go

So look across the ocean
See those on distant corners
Or see the one beside you
Look in their eyes long enough and you'll know

This one
That one
Each one
Is God's Gift to the world

We are
They are
Each one
Is God's Gift to the world

And all the lonely people
The first ones are the last ones
All the great and small ones
The ones that win and lose

All of the remembered
Even the forgotten
From every single nation
You know it's true . . . true for me and you

This one
That one
Each one
Is God's Gift to the world
So I remembered a li'l anthem I found on the web quite a while ago - a strong attitude makes all the difference, ladies ... O:-)
(and oh - parental warning: Guess, this is a PG-13 or something...?)

After having watched "August Rush" I decided for a little walk around the city center, expecting to capture a few shots of the decorated building fronts and all. I ended up taking 108 pictures, some of which I'm sharing here in a new format, a slideshow. The soundtrack is a song by Dina Carroll. I've always liked listening to it around this time of the year, as it captures the mood and change best in my opinion. It goes back to a movie, which I'll look up later, maybe along with the lyrics.
Enjoy - and have a great Happy New Year everyone!

Oh - the lyrics:

Ring out the old, bring in the new
A midnight wish to share with you
Your lips are warm, my head is light
Were we in love before tonight?

I don't need a crowded ballroom everything I need is here
If you're with me next year will be
The perfect year

No need to hear the music play,
You eyes say all there is to say
The stars can fade and they can shine
'Long as your face is next to mine

I don't need a crowded ball room everything I need is here
If you're with me next year will be
The perfect year

We don't need a crowded ballroom everything we need is here
If your with me next year will be
The perfect year

It's New Year's Eve and hopes are high
Dance one year in, kiss one goodbye
Another chance, another start
So many dreams to tease the heart

We don't need a crowded ballroom everything we need is here
And face to face we will embrace
The perfect year
Oh, we don't need a crowded ballroom everything we need is here
Here's a double premier: a) I recorded a movie using the built-in iSight on my MacBook Pro for the first time and b) I am sharing a self-made video for the first time ever. I guess, I am inspired by Sascha's video clips today, so I let you witness some of my weekend guitar practicing, if you want to :-) All raw, unedited, uncut and - yeah, I might have to crank the guitar up next time.
P.S.: B.t.w.: This is supposed to be "Talk to your Daughter" by Robben Ford I'm playing along with.
P.P.S.: I left any mistakes on purpose to prove that I'm not faking it (well - let's say, it's still a bit of a fake, since I'm not EXACTLY playing all of the same notes Robben Ford plays, but trying to get as close as possible)
P.P.P.S.: Sorry for looking terrible - not enough sleep in days...

A while ago I came across this demo movie of a big shot animation studio. It's called "In The Rough" and I don't think, I've ever seen anything funnier than this. It's timeless, "international" language version ;-) and the original, high-rez file can be found at www.atomfilms.com/film/rough.jsp?channelKeyword=channel_computer_animation
