PM Matti Vanhanen drinking Pommac at the banquet hall of the Finnish Government (called Smolna). Shot during a reception while I attended a history conference marking the 200 year anniversary of the war of 1808-09 last February. I think this room is called the "Yellow Salon".

Mrs. Scoo and I visited the Estonian capital Tallinn (formerly known as Reval) during the weekend, one of the points of interestest for her [err, us ;) ] was a wholesale store that sell bulk wool yarn, cloth and various sewing and knitting supplies.

Thanks to her knitting e-sisters and such she had got directions to the store which was situated in a semi-derelict building in a residental area of Tallinn.

Our savings were considerate, over there Novita Stone yarn cost 1.85€ per ball while it cost here in Finland 3.30€ and upwards.

Frame no. 28 of the first self-processed roll showing a detail of the pedestrian street of Turku, blog entry

[this doesn't look at all as good on my monitor at work as at home, might had needed some more contrast, still a quick peek into what became of it].

A bit low contrast, has to do with how I scanned it in a hurry and didn't set black and white points properly [the histogram looks nice enough]. This is easily done in photoshop though. Fortunately a department store opened a new section that day, otherwise I hadn't been able to pinpoint the date ;)

Rodinal 1+100, ~20°C, 20 minutes.

Instead of going to a restaurant we celebrated our wedding anniversary by going camping to the island Ruissalo in the Turku archipelago. Kuuva is a pleasant place to be at when the sun is setting.

An infrared filter is a fairly cheap way for letting one's imagination loose, the effect of (near) infrared photography can be mimicked in photoshop, takes a fair bit of work though.

Cheap but not that good processing done in Hammamet, Tunisia. Fortunately the store owner ran out of developer after one roll, so I ended up with only one scratched roll.

My first attempt at shooting colour negative with the FM2 (only three or four rolls of 120 film before two rolls of Centuria 200 (except some sporadic shots during my adolescence)).

DNP Centuria is the old Konica-Minolta Centuria rebranded.

Me photographing a freight train last summer. Shot by Mrs. Scoo.

I'm holding one of my father's F2's with a 20mm f/4 pre-Ai lens attached (quite a bit of fun for one accustomed to a 1.5x crop factor dSLR) and juggling with the shutter speed & aperture by the looks of it.

Taken onboard the Elbe class supply ship Rhein of the 3rd Minesweeper squadron of the German Navy while she was visiting Turku last summer along with two minesweepers.
