Dusk arrives, and the pleasant walk becomes a splendour of colors, as a final gift of a good day. The warmth of the colors, that one that we cannot just not be aware of, the one of the sunset, gives us that same warmth to our soul. A calm reflected on the Ebro river, and culminated by El Pilar in Zaragoza.

Llega el atardecer, y el agradable paseo se convierte en esplendor de colores, como regalo final de un buen día. La calidez de colores, esa que no somos capaces de obviar, la de la puesta de sol, nos da esa misma calidez al alma. Una tranquilidad reflejada en el Ebro, y culminada por El Pilar de Zaragoza.

"The factory", that's how italian people call the Duomo in Milan. Factory, for all the needed restorations, with the pass of time. And the result is that it keeps being a great reference. And ourselves, wouldn't we advance more with our continuous inner "restorations"?

"La fábrica", así llaman los italianos al Duomo de Milán. Fábrica, por todas las restauraciones que va necesitando, con el paso del tiempo. Y el resultado es que sigue siendo una gran referencia. Y nosotros, ¿no avanzaríamos más con continuas "restauraciones" interiores?

Aquí dentro, he estado pocas veces. Aún. Aquí dentro, pese al ruido de visitantes y devotos, hay a la vez un silencio cuyo sonido es más fuerte que cualquiera de esos ruidos. Como en el Pilar, de Zaragoza, así nosotros también, en nuestro interior. ¿Qué buscas? ¿El silencio, o el ruido?

Somos distintos, y esa es una bendición. Vemos las cosas bajo un punto de vista distinto, y esto nos enriquece. Pero también vemos la realidad de forma distinta. ¿No será necesario abandonarnos, dejar atrás nuestro ego, para encontrar la Verdad?

Messengers of the Divine, bearers of great messages in many religions, their words have always counted on human action, and therefore, on their freedom of choice. As always, ... hope has been based on freedom.

Could it be this, why their representations in sculptures seem so full of life, or even inquisitive? Maybe this mistery is part of the feelings in this time of Advent. Feelings, ... of hope and life.

Mensajeros de lo Divino, portadores de grandes mensajes en muchas religiones, sus palabras siempre han contado con la acción humana, y por tanto con su libertad de elección. Como también, siempre, ... la esperanza ha estado basada en la libertad.

¿Será por esto, que sus representaciones en esculturas parecen tan llenas de vida, e incluso inquisitivas? Quizá este misterio es parte de los sentimientos en este tiempo de Adviento. Sentimientos, ... de esperanza y vida.

Even the most beautiful monuments, and even in Italy, look better with some decoration. Even more if it is with nature, as they are elements of life. In the case of people, ... it is undoubtadly human warmth what gives always the best. As it has been in Milan, in my visit to Giorgio and Marina's home.

Hasta los más bonitos monumentos, e incluso en Italia, resultan mejor con alguna decoración. Más si es con naturaleza, al ser elementos de vida. En el caso de la gente, ... es sin lugar a dudas el calor humano lo que da lo mejor siempre. Así ha sido en Milán, ... en mi visita al hogar de Giorgio y Marina.

It is said that Chinese dragons represent the primitive forces of nature and universe, being creatures of great wisdom, as this concrete dragon carrying a light as to share such wisdom. But, ... that's also how we all are: bearers of wisdom. Our own wisdom, to be shared and learned. Everyone is a master. Everyone can teach an excellent lesson. From everyone we can learn another one. Just, don't forget the torch, ... and your open mind.

Se dice que los dragones chinos representan las fuerzas primitivas de la naturaleza y del universo, siendo criaturas de gran sabiduría. Este dragón concreto está con una luz, como para compartiar esta sabiduría. Pero, ... así es como somos todos: portadores de sabiduría. Nuestra propia sabiduría, para compartir y aprender. Todos somos maestros. Todos podemos dar una excelente lección. De todos podemos aprender otra. Sólo, no te olvides de la lámpara, ... y de tu mente abierta.

It is said that there is nothing more peaceful than to look a child sleeping. It is even usual, to see people smiling when they're watching his sleep. Innocence? Fragility? Simplicity? It is children, who most live their present. No worries about future. No loads due to the past. Just present. Maybe that's why they sleep so deeply.

Se dice que no hay nada más pacífico que ver un niño durmiendo. Es incluso habitual, ver a la gente sonreir cuando están viendo su sueño. ¿Inocencia? ¿fragilidad? ¿simplicidad? Son los niños, quienes más viven el presente. Sin preocupaciones por el futuro. Sin cargas por el pasado. Simplemente el presente. Quizá es por esto por lo que duermen tan profundamente.

Not only there are who have an outstanding imagination, but even they know how to apply it into reality itself, as Gaudí did. Imagination and reality, ... don't they have to do with the deep dreams of the soul, and being able to achieve them?

No sólo hay quienes tienen una desbordante imaginación, sino que además saben plasmarla en la realidad misma, como hizo Gaudí. Imaginación y realidad, ... ¿acaso no tienen que ver con los sueños profundos del alma, y el podrerlos alcanzar?

Each year, around these dates, there is a prayer for Peace in this place where the photograph is taken: the basilica of San Francisco el Grande in Madrid, Spain. This prayer for Peace has included and includes muslims, jewish, evangelics, romanian orthodox, greek orthodox and catholics. The atmosphere is so special and nice, that we all await impatiently these dates to see each others there, united, praying for Peace.

Cada año, alrededor de estas fechas, hay una oración por la Paz en este lugar donde esta foto está hecha: la basílica de San Francisco el Grande en Madrid. Esta oración por la Paz ha incluido e incluye a musulmanes, judíos, evangélicos, ortodoxos rumanos, ortodoxos griegos y católicos. El ambiente es tan especial y bonito, que todos aguardamos estas fechas con impaciencia para vernos todos ahí, unidos, en oración por la Paz.

Sometimes there isn't other way than to be ordered as to be able to do things. The nice thing is when beauty comes from that order. It's two things that don't need to be opposite.

A veces no hay más remedio que ser ordenado para poder hace las cosas. Lo bonito es que salga belleza de ese orden. Son dos cosas que no tienen por qué ser opuestas.

And after, after the storm, when all things come to a calm, ... we look, and it is ourselves what prevail. It is ourselves who have made another step. Into our souls.

Dedicated to all those who are in such a moment.

Tantos momentos en la vida, ... en los que tenemos decisiones difíciles. Tantos momentos de soledad. Estas decisiones nos definen a nosotros y a nuestra vida. I guess everybody would agree, after the olympic games, that the bear that Napoleon spoke of, is today completely awake. Not only it is this value, being awake, but gradually being more self conscious what gives an inner strength.

Supongo que todos estarán de acuerdo, después de los juegos olímpicos, que el oso del que Napoleón habló, está hoy completamente despierto. No sólo es este valor, sino el ser cada vez más consciente de sí mismo, que da una fuerza interior.
