DSi - Asphalt 4

Another enjoyable download from the DSi Ware channel.

Asphalt 4 has a wide selection of vehicles (cars and bikes) with a nice assortment of tracks and racing challenges. It also supports multi-player if your friend also has a copy of the game on his/her DSi.

My driving looks a little clumsy, but that's because it was difficult playing with the camera in the way.

Wii - Nyx Quest

This, in my opinion, is one of (if not the) best WiiWare titles available for the Nintendo Wii. This is Nyx Quest: Kindred Spirits.

In this game you play as Nyx, the winged Greek goddess of the night, on a quest to find your kindred spirit, Icarus.

This is one stylish platform game. The setting, the sounds, and the music really set the scene. In fact, I find the environment quite beautiful. The art department did a wonderful job on this one. I really like the ancient Greek theme.

The controls are also very effective and smooth. But, they're also challenging... in a good way. Later on in the game, you have to be able to coordinate moving Nyx (nunchuk and the A button), as well as manipulating objects (pointing with the Wiimote and the B button) all at the same time to make it through certain puzzles.

My only concern is that the game might not be long enough for me. I really look forward to spending some time exploring this world and hope it isn't over too soon.

Wii - Excitebike: World Rally

A fun little racer available via download from the WiiWare channel.

You tilt the Wiimote to do wheelies and mow down your opponents. But don't let the bike get over-heated.

It's a simple game, but the quick races are fun. It also comes with a track editor and can be played against others via WiFi.

Wii - Rabbids Go Home

Here's a few clips of the latest Rabbids game for the Wii, "Rabbids Go Home".

In this game, your goal is to collect enough stuff so the Rabbids can build a pile tall enough to reach the moon.

In the last couple minutes of the video, you see the fun you can have when a Rabbid gets into your Wiimote.

A fun, fast action shooter with great visual effects and sound tracks. You drive with the nunchuck thumb stick and direct your blasts by pointing with the wiimote.

This game also featues a DS download abillity, if you wish to take the original version of Geometry Wars with you.

Lots of fun and stays true to the Ghost Busters franchise. It feels a lot like playing a character in an actual Ghost Busters movie.

Good story line with humor you'd expect from the Ghost Busters. If you liked the movies, I'm sure you'd like this game.

Here's my first DSi game video!

This has to be the most authentic pinball table "simulator" video games I've ever played.
The physics, sounds, bumper and flipper actions are perfect. And this table has a lot of fun features, like ball magnets, ramps, multi-ball play, and video modes.

It fits the DSi dual screens very well and using the left and right shoulder buttons to control the table's flippers makes for a comfortable gaming experience.

If you like pinball, you'll like Pinball Pulse: The Ancients Beckon. It's available on the DSi download store.

Some classic arcade action on the Mattel Intellivision video game console.

Games in this video are PacMan, Pinball, Defender, and Bump n' Jump.

PacMan's movement looks odd, due to the frame rate of the video. When playing, however, PacMan looks quite authentic.

Wii - Cursed Mountain

Picked up Cursed Mountain this week. Although I've just gotten started, it seems to be a pretty good game.

The visuals are quite good and the ambient sound effects are quite effective and good quality. They really pull you into the game and can sometimes make you jump a bit. The controls are also pretty smooth and easy to execute.

About the only problem I've experienced so far is a few minor issues with the camera angles. Some spirits attack when you first enter a room. The door frame and surrounding wall sometimes get in the way and make fighting these ghosts a little more frustrating.

A space-type shooter Wiiware title for the Nintendo Wii. Lots of "old school" appeal in this game. You can either use the "D-pad" to move left and right, or you can tilt the will-moted (holding it sideways) for left and right movement.

Of course, the further you get, the faster the action gets.
