(it start at around 1:55 min.)
Ah, probably you noticed already, the "piano"-sound is a little unusual here... =)

I found it quite late and then even also needed a little while more to explore the beauty of this CD and finally appreciated the whole record much more. :) Even if I loved "That Lady" immediately... it's just an aweseomely funky track. ;)

From the CD: "...They borrowed the high-voltage machismo from one of their early sideman - a guitarist named Jimi Hendrix - and they added their sweet and sweaty, gospel-drenched vocals to the powerhouse songs and multi-instrumental chops of the musicians of their own family. The result was a body-shaking revolution of the mind, the spirit and the soul."

I like this track a lot, because of the very relaxed chorus (sung by Me'shell) and the bass-playing (Me'shell in the early 90s earned her reputation because of her bass-playing skills), plus the spoken word passages, that make this piece of music kinda special.

When I fall down, I need a helping hand.
And when I lose my head, it's cause it's always buried in the sand.
When I get stuck on myself, feelin' sorry for myself.
Will you help me grab a hold and please don't patrionize my soul.
When I start to lose control, when I get irrational, when I start to get too high,
you see me come floating by, I say

Touch me in the morning sun, when I feel impossible.
Touch me in the morning sun, show me what is possible.
Touch me in the morning sun when I feel impossible, show me what is possible.
Teach me love invisible, Teach me love invinsible, Teach me love invincible,
Teach me love invincible.

When your down, you need a helping hand.
And when you lose your head, I'll help you wash away the sand.
And when you get stuck on yourself, feelin' sorry for yourself.
I will help you grab a hold and I won't patrionize your soul.
When you start to lose control, when you get irrational, when you start to get too high,
show me what is possible.
Teach me love invincible, Teach me love invincible

When we're down, we need a helping hand.
And when we lose our heads, it's cause they're always buried in the sand.
But when we get stuck on our selves, feelin' sorry for our selves.
Will you help us grab a hold and please don't patrionize our souls.
When we start to lose control, when we get irrational, when we start to get too high,

Talking of summer days enjoying in so many ways
taking time to soak some rays I'm feeling you
when you've been couped up for a while
it's nice to get out sometime
in the park play ball spread out I'm feeling you

I'm feeling you, hope that you're feeling me too
just like I'm feeling you...

when the sunshine comes after rain
like it's trying to soothe the pain
you can make bad things go away
I'm feeling you any time my skies have a cloud
want something to make me proud
when my life is full of doubt, I'm feeling you...
A mixture of jazz/big-band, funk, soul and rap. So, all the styles I love in so called 'black music'. Kind of one of my absolute favorite songs of this kind... alone because it's just a very unique piece of music (even if I have examples that tried something similar later).

It's taken from the tribute-recording for Marvin Gaye compiled in 1995 (that I'm proud to have and love since about 1996). I already recommended this CD on this pic:
