Alan Norsworthy has added a post:

Last weekend, in scorching heat and wilting humidity we went to the Mountsberg Conservation Park.

We braved the hoards of mosquitoes and the aforementioned heat and humidity to photograph some of the raptors there.

Ah, Canada in the Springtime !

Personally I think the American Kestrel shot made it all worthwhile :-)

Alan Norsworthy has added a post:

At the end of a 1/4 mile driveway sits this long abandoned farmhouse and barn. We estimate it was abandoned in 1990. The barn bears the mark of the builder .. Leo Vasconi in 1865.

This old place is in advanced decay and is quite dangerous in some areas. The kitchen and living room floors are now in the basement and the stairs are on an alarming tilt. Never-the-less it is still a dignified building with gothic windows, well the frames anyway thick walls and walnut panelling.

What a place this must have been even 20 years ago, now mother nature is slowly returning and driving out the graffitti artists.

All these shots were taken with my D 300 set on 'monochrome' which is truly amazing and savd a loot of time in PP as I didn't have to convert everything on my computer !

I always wonder who lived in these sometimes magnificent houses and why they leave so fast. These places are more often than not filled with personal belonging.

I call it the 'Marie Celeste' syndrome.

Sad really and what is worse it is becoming more and more prevalent as good farm land is gobbled up by developers :-(

Today I took it for a walk in Elora.

Everything I have read about this little gem is true;

The colour rendition, the clarity, the contrast and last but certainly not least, the sharpness!

This thing is incredible and all for $ 112 !

Wow :-)

Have a look at 'Behind the potting shed' and the pansy shot.
