New Group: Travel Photo Forum

Once upon a time, I had a group called travel photo forum on Yahoo, which was a very active place and there were many discussions on travel experiences, tips on the best equipment for traveling with a camera and lots of photo albums.

Unfortunately, when Yahoo changed from its old-fashioned (but performant) "clubs" design to the new "groups", the activity level went down, while membership went down.

I hope that Ipernity will offer a new platform where photo pros and amateurs can exchange tips and tricks and show off their best travel shots.

So once again, I created a "Travel Photo Forum": http://www.ipernity.com/group/travelphoto

Not quite as much as in my travel photo group on Flickr, but quite a nice start.

Some of the threads are quite popular, with a high number of pictures posted...

If you want to participate yourself, please post the "medium" sized version of your photos as a comment.

Paintshop Pro X2

I just downloaded the Trial Version of the new PSP X2 - looks quite impressive on the surface.

I was not really impressed with the newly added HDR-functionality though - but then I also rarely prefer the photomatix results to what I get by simply fine-tuning the best exposure of a photo shot in raw format...

The "express-lab" seems to be quite adequate for small jobs, but then I mostly use Adobe Lightroom for such purposes.

The function allowing you to automatically keep the original when working on an image seems quite helpful (but only for those pictures not take in Raw format anyway.

Did anyone else already check this upgrade, what do you think? Is it worth the money?

Strecken lässt ein Fotomotiv umgehend dünner erscheinen und mit dem Modus Augentropfen können Sie Rötungen aus Augen entfernen und so das Weiß der Augen wiederherstellen.

4.	Neu: Scanunterteilung Das Beschneiden von Bildern, die gemeinsam gescannt wurden, geht jetzt ganz einfach von der Hand - wählen Sie einfach die neue Funktion „Neues Bild beschneiden“ und bei jedem Klicken auf OK wird ein neues Dokument aus dem beschnittenen Bereich erstellt.

Diese Funktion prüft, ob Sie zum ersten Mal speichern und sorgt dann dafür, dass die Originalversion automatisch in einem Unterordner auf der Festplatte gespeichert wird. Mit der Funktion „Originalgröße wiederherstellen“ haben Sie stets eine Absicherung.

I must admit that I have several photo sites of my own.

On one of them, I have created albums for the continents with sub-albums for various countries.

The idea is to look at the same countries from different angles - very much like the photo threads I have here on my blog, but with an album look and feel.

The "Menalto Gallery" script is quite powerful and allows for nested albums and slideshows in various sizes - so it's quite fun.
