Silje has added a post:

Me and Anita entered a very serious and tough race last weekend. We came in last place and most race cars finished the race in half our time.

Here are the different vehicles..

This is ours. A very deadly race machine! Its actually

a normal transport thing in Norway in wintertime. Look much like a pair of skies with a chair on top.

Here we are test driving the deadly wonder before the race. Problem was breaks and stearing. we figured that we didn't need breaks but we might need to turn the thing...the race track was a very long left turn. This made it possible to rule out the right turn and just concentrate on the left. We never really managed...

Just before the race feeling very confident..

At the top...ready for take off.

Here we are in the first round...we were lucky with the picture...just before this we were very eligantly jumping it back on track trying desparetly not to hit the many people watching us make fools of ourselves..

Here we have our cheerleaders...they hid well :-) They had 2 signs as well...but I don't know where they hid them.

Creative ways :-)

This really was a wonderful car! There is a lot of time and cursing behind this. And we also were very happy that the driver is around the same age as us..almost all drivers were kids.

There has to be flames!

I really liked this one!

Of course there was accidents..surprisingly many. One never made it to the finishline, others got bad fleshwounds and some just got a bit shaken :-)

Can't wait for next years race!

Silje has added a post:

A part of the Design Week in Milan, but here its students from all over the world exhibiting their creations. a lot of creativity in many levels. Packed with inspiration and very crowded and chaotic!

Here is the link to see the pictures from last years: though you have to find the page for the satellite www.cosmit.it/tool/home.php

And here are mine from this year:

These had a lot of extendable furniture made in wood. Beautful and smart solutions. The chair he is sitting on can be rolled up the only thing keeping its shape together when unfolded is the felt on the sides...

Table with foldable legs

Support

Everything made in modules

of styrofoam. Put it together

as a puzzle and you have

a table or a shelf etc...

Small shelves with the text "music is not dead" written in front

I love the keyboard!!!

Smart eggholder. Lovely!

Nice touch on the "handles"

Decorative snowboards!

I found a small tree witch didn't really

seem to belong anywhere. But nice

either way :-)

Pipe hanger! Decorative!

Nice!

A clothes rack, but the fun part is that you throw them on from a distance. Here one is hit in the face :-)

They look so small in there!

See the website: www.lorenzopetrantoni.com/tap

Stackable stools..behind you see the box

shape when they are assembled

Very nice!

A fishbowl...and she sat like this all the time to attract people.

Very cool chairs, though I doubt they are comfortable.

Flat to 3D

Bendable lamp. Take the front and fold it back. Too bad I cut his head, he seems handsome!

Loved the look of the "curtain"

though its not very practical

Birds on a string...very quiet but very nice!

These had such a great feeling to them!

ZONA TORTONA: Not in the student satellite

Very simple wooden "chairs"

Simple and wonderful shape!

A beautifull wooden chair

In the end you get very tired! Here is an example of what happens to the male Icelandic!

And if you are still hungry for more here is my album with more from Zona Tortona www.ipernity.com/doc/silje/album/61771

Hope this was enjoyable!

Though I love to read them and I appreciate all the wonderful words you write, I think this is what works best for me now. I often don't have time to write comments myself. School and taking pictures is eating away my time. I too often feel I have neglected many of my contacts and also while gaining more creative minds to my list. I will still comment on your pictures, but not as much as before. There are so many creative and brilliant people here that I learn so much from. You are a huge inspiration and I will continue to follow what you come up with in the future. I don't want anyone to spend time giving comments to me if I don't have time to repay the favor.

I know that I am only in a period now where I am somehow able to stumble together meanings with words....when I am not in this period or mood, I can make great efforts, but I know its useless. The words won't come to me and I aslo am shut off to many of the intuitive angles in wich I am able to see things. In a way I shut down my own natural flow and personality. On ipernity I am "more" able to keep this flowing, though I also shut down here. It goes in waves..In everyone else I see continuity...they seem the same more or less all the way. I know how huge my differences can be..and I know it shows both here on ipernity and most of all in my every day life. My friends..may wonder where I went. I don't know. Here I am able to give more, though it scares me...I don't know who is watching...but since I don't I also can't hear them laugh. I can imagine them being indifferent, or the wonderful thought that someone can relate or smile. Someone special taught me a big lesson...one I will have with me and always try and improve. It can never be perfect and that is the beauty. I have many of these...but this is the most important and I don't know if I am able to explain it...probably because it would always mean something different to someone else. But to FOLLOW A NATURAL FLOW: to me this means- to always be able to let go, to never put yourself on a pedistal, to know how unimportant u are in many ways, to speak when u feel it natural, to be thrilled when its only natural on a personal level, not to judge because society has taught u where to do so, to always be ready to throw away your deepest beliefs because they were proven wrong, to accept that u are weak without weakening yourself, to be the emotion u are and feel that particular moment. I changed my profile and deleted the static information I had written about myself...and changed it to what my iper page is about, its a public diary through pictures..and to my extreme horror now also more words. I am putting myself in a position where in some small way I am indifferent to how someone might interpret "me" after seeing and reading, its only chance that made my diary end up here. I have tried to write one before, but it didn't feel right...this has happened by itself through what I feel is something coming natural. But the indifference relates to me trying to depend on myself, why I write this, and not how it will be accepted or trashed in another persons eyes. This is the most revealing thing I have ever done in my whole life....it scares me, it terrifies me, but if I post this...I have one rule...I can't delete it. This is a diary. My fright has always been people. I don't know the source of it...I have many times tried to find it, but I have found out that the source is not the issue, finding myself is. I relate to people where I can find a continuity in personality, that I feel is natural. They may behave in unacceptable ways...I don't care. If I know they are being true (no one is), but at least trying, and I can relate to them, understand them...then I love them. One person in my life has been in his past concidered the lowest trash of society...now that most don't know his background and he has moved past it, he is accepted, more then accepted, people geniounly appreciate him! He is the person I know with the most strenght, flaws, struggle, depression, happiness, but last...the willpower to find himself again.....Beautiful people make you grow! There are many more!! And some will never know that i concider them beautiful And then at last u have yourself...

it's a great story about a group of 20 talented orphans who manage to support 700 other orphans in Uganda through their biennial dance tour of the US.
