So I decided to write this short note. Thank you all for your interest! And to the next 25k

exilpaelzer has added a post:

When I took the picture for day 1, I didn't know that it would be part of a daily series. It was day 2, when I decided to join the challenge. By that time I didn't really expect that I would be able to finish the whole year, I just wanted to give it a try.

Most of the time I wasn't creative or something. Most of my pictures are just boring. Only sometimes I tried to express something particular, like a certain nostalgic lifestyle. That's why I often worked with grain, bw, sepia, desaturation and similar effects. No "deeper" meaning though.

Many things change during a year. The most massive change in my life probably happened on day 182, when I stopped smoking! That means I don't smoke half a year now, the biggest part of the project! Waking up in the morning and being able to breath is a amazing. :)

Another big issue during this year was that I (re-)discovered my big love for nature in general and the forest in particular. Now I try to spend as much time out there as possible. I can't stand the city anymore...

Which leads me to the last point I want to write about. I made the decision to move back to my hometown. When I first came to Berlin, I was looking for interesting new people, for parties and culture. I found all that, but now I'm looking for something different: A place to call "home". I'm not sure I will find such a place immediately, but I know that I won't find it in Berlin. My nickname "exilpaelzer" shall be history soon. Soon means during the next 365days without daily selfportrait ;)

Last but not least I want to mention the great ipernity meetup in Berlin. It's been a great weekend, and I want to thank everybody who made it that great!

Now it's time to say "thank you" to all my regular visitors, mostly quiet, but I know you are out there. Thank you for your interest! I also have to thank all the creative photographers on fl...., they inspired me to take the challenge in the first place. And a big, big "thank you" goes to Team Ipernity for providing such a nice and cozy platform.

No longer do you have to see my face everyday ;)

exilpaelzer has added a post:

This is supposed to be a thread, where we can collect our photos of forest. I love to be outside in the nature, and I use to shoot lots of pictures there, but with my simple compact camera and my very low skills, it's rather difficult to get any interesting results.

However, I know that many photographers are capable to shoot fantastic photos in the woods, so I'd like to have them collected here, until ipernity will have a group feature implemented.

Pfälzer Wald

Botanischer Garten in Berlin, not a proper forest though...

Now I've got a second photsharing-community. I'm not going to delete my account on flickr, because I don't want to loose my contacts and favorite photos there, as well as some particular groups. But this will now be the place where I post my pics, especially where I succeed with the 365days project.

I'm also going to use the opportunity for a fresh start, and as soon as we'll have a group function here, I will propably open one myself.
