I am outraged to learn that the Chinese government has executed three Tibetans, Lobsang Gyaltsen, Loyak, and Penkyi for their alleged involvement in the March 2008 protests. The executions took place in Lhasa, Tibet's capital, on October 20th, 2009. There are reports from Tibet that a fourth execution may have taken place.

These executions of Tibetans, the first known since 2003, signal an alarming escalation in the Chinese government's violent campaign to punish, intimidate, and silence any Tibetan who dares to speak out against China's occupation.

Lobsang Gyaltsen and Loyak were originally sentenced to death on April 8, 2009, prompting an international campaign to stop China from carrying out their executions. The identity of the other two Tibetans is unclear, but some believe that Penkyi could be a Tibetan woman in her early twenties who was given a suspended death sentence in April 2009.

These individuals were denied their basic legal rights, and their trials were not conducted in accordance with international judicial standards. A report released by Human Rights Watch in March 2009 revealed that China's judicial system is "so highly politicised as to preclude any possibility for a fair trial for Tibetans."

Symbolismes:

: Le triangle blanc au centre représente une montagne enneigée et elle symbolise le Tibet qui est connu sous le nom de "Pays des neiges"

- Les six rayons rouges représentent les six tribus originelles du Tibet: les "Se", "Mu", "Dong", "Tong", "Dru" et "Ra".

- Les six rayons bleus sont le symbole du ciel.

- La combinaison des rayons rouges et bleus symbolise l'incessante activité déployée par les deux déités protectrices du Tibet pour défendre les traditions spirituelles et séculaires du pays.

Dear G8 World Leaders,
We write you collectively with a serious request for you to take a step that would have far reaching consequences for the world.
I’m sure you agree that the integration of China into the community of nations as a responsible, peaceful, and cooperative actor on the world stage is one of the two most important challenges facing us all right now.
His Holiness the Dalai Lama is one of the most well-known, respected, and visionary spiritual leaders in the world, quite familiar to all of you and to the people of your countries.
The leaders of China are the only ones who do not know him personally, and that is something you all in concert could do something about. He can be of invaluable help in moving this integration in the right direction.The Dalai Lama is a friend of China, its people, and its leadership.
He wants their good just as much as he wants the good of the six million Tibetans he feels mosresponsible for.He is not unhappy for himself as things stand - as a realized Buddhist monk he is quite content in the state of “having gone from home to homelessness” (the description of a Buddhist renunciate), and India is considered the “Holy Land” by Buddhists.
Once the Chinese leadership takes the steps necessary to make his people happy by truly granting them the real autonomy they are promised in the Chinese constitution, then he will see toit that China’s deep wish for acknowledged, legitimate sovereignty over Tibet is fulfilled.
This is not at all that hard for China to do; it would gain the Chinese leadership enormous prestige, would be of great benefit to the Chinese and the Tibetan people, and crucial to preserve the Tibetan Buddhist culture and the fragile environment of the Tibetan high plateau.
The Chinese leaders’ fear of the Dalai Lama and of the spirituality he represents has prevented them from getting to know him and enlisting his help in resolving their problems with the people of Tibet.
By bringing him and them together at a world leaders’ summit would defuse this obstacle and initiate a whole new level of resolve on all sides to resolve this tragic situation that has persisted for more than half a century. It would be an historic event.
Perhaps to defuse the Chinese leaders’ reluctance to meet His Holiness, a half a dozen Nobel Laureates could be invited along with him; say Tutu, Wiesel, Gore, Yunus, Williams, Ibadi.
There could be a special session for the G8 leaders with these Laureates, to have the Laureates’ perspective on the world situation; and then a private meeting between Dalai Lama and Hu Jintao would not be so conspicuous.
If this meeting can be effected, there is no doubt an important follow-up process will be initiated by the Chinese leaders themselves, the steps of which will be obvious.
In hopes that you will give this proposal your strongest and most careful consideration and will decide to take this critical step at this critical moment.

Sehr geehrte Regierungsoberhäupter der G8,Wir schreiben Ihnen gemeinsamen, um ein ernstes Anliegen vorzubringen, dass weitreichende Konsequenzen für die gesamte Welt haben könnte. Ich bin sicher, Sie stimmen darin überein, dass die Integration Chinas in die internationale Staatengemeinschaft als einen verantwortlichen und cooperativen Partner in den internationalen Beziehungen eine der beiden wichtigsten Herausforderungen ist, die uns allen derzeit gegenüberstehen.
Seine Heiligkeit der Dalai Lama ist einer der bekanntesten, respektiertesten und visionärsten spirituellen Oberhäupter in der Welt und Ihnen allen sowie den Bürgern ihrer Länder sehr vertraut.
Die Spitzenpolitiker Chinas sind die einzigen, die ihn nicht persönlich kennen. Das ist etwas wofür Sie alle gemeinsam etwas tun können. Er könnte eine unschätzbare Hilfe sein, diesen Integrationsprozess in die richtige Richtung zu lenken.
Der Dalai Lama ist ein Freund Chinas, des chinesischen Volkes und seiner Regierung.
Er wünscht deren Wohl ebenso wie das Wohl der sechs Millionen Tibeter, für die er sich am verantwortlichsten fühlt.
So wie die Dinge stehen, ist er nicht unglücklich wegen seiner selbst - als realisierter Buddhistischer Mönch ist er mit dem Zustand des "Weggegangen aus der Heimat in die Heimatlosigkeit" (die Beschreibung des Buddhistischen Entsagens) einverstanden und Indien wird als das "Heilige Land" der Buddhisten betrachtet.
Wenn die chinesische Regierung einmal die nötigen Schritte unternommen hat, um sein Volk glücklich zu machen, indem ihnen echte Autonomie gewährt wird, die ihnen die Chinesische Verfassung verspricht, dann wird er dafür sorgen, dass Chinas tiefer Wunsch für anerkannte, legitime Souveränität über Tibet erfüllt wird.
Dies ist ganz und gar nicht so schwer für China; es würde der chinesischen Führung enormes Ansehen verleihen, wäre von großem Vorteil für das Chinesische und Tibetische Volk und entscheidend für den Erhalt und Schutz der Tibetischen Buddhistischen Kultur und der fragilen natürlichen Umwelt des Tibetschen Hochplateaus.
Die Furcht der Chinesischen Politiker vor dem Dalai Lama und der Spiritualität, die er repräsentiert, hat sie davon abgehalten, ihn kennen zu lernen und seine Hilfe in Anspruch zu nehmen, ihre Probleme mit dem Tibetischen Volk zu lösen.
Durch die Vermittlung einer Zusammenkunft auf einem Gipfeltreffen der Spitzenpolitiker der führenden Nationen dieser Welt würde dieses Hindernis entschärft und eine gänzlich neue Ebene der Konflikt-Lösung auf allen Seiten erreicht, um diese tragische Situation, die nun seit mehr als einem halben Jahrhundert anhält, friedlich zu lösen. Das wäre ein historischer Moment.
Vielleicht könnten, um die diesbezügliche Zurückhaltung und das Widerstreben der Chinesischen Regierung aufzulösen, ein halbes Dutzend weiterer Nobelpreisträger zusammen mit ihm eingeladen werden, sagen wir Tutu, Wiesel, Gore, Yunus, Williams und Ibadi.
Es könnte eine spezielle Tagung der G8 Regierungsoberhäupter mit den Preisträgern einberaumt werden, um die Meinungen und Blickwinkel der Preisträger die Weltsituation betreffend einzuholen. Dann wäre ein privates Treffen zwischen dem Dalai Lama und Hu Jintao nicht allzu demonstrativ.
Wenn dieses Treffen herbeigeführt werden kann, gibt es zweifelsohne einen nachhaltigen Nachfolgeprozess, der durch die chinesische Führung selbst initiiert wird. Die Schritte dieser Entwicklung werden klar auf der Hand liegen.
In der Hoffnung, dass Sie diesem Vorschlag ihre stärkste und sorgsamste Berücksichtigung schenken und entscheiden, diesen kritischen Schritt in diesem kritischen Moment zu gehen.

Depuis des décennies de répression, les Tibétains réclament au monde un changement. Les leaders de la Chine sont en ce moment même en train de faire un choix crucial entre l'escalade de la brutalité ou le dialogue, ce qui pourrait déterminer le futur du Tibet et de la Chine.

Nous pouvons avoir un impact sur ce choix historique. La Chine tient à sa réputation internationale. Mais il faudra une avalanche de réactions au niveau mondial pour obtenir l'attention du gouvernement chinois. Le leader spirituel des Tibétains, le Dalai Lama, a appelé à la mesure et au dialogue: il a besoin que les peuples du monde le soutienne.

Press Release 21st April 2008

On 17th April, 8 novice monks have been arrested from Nalanda Monastery of Phenpo Lhundrub District. On 15th April evening 18 monks were arrested followed by another 4 monks on the 16th from Shitsang Gatsel Monastery of Kanlho Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Luchu District. On 14th morning, Chinese Army search parties arrested another 3 monks from Choepel Tashi Choekhor Ling Monastery in Chone District, which took the total arrestees from the monastery to 200.

As reported earlier many monks from Rebkong Rongpo Gonchen Monastery have been arrested. The place has been designated as the source of all the protests in the region and severe restrictions on the movement of people had been imposed. The additional army personnel in black dresses deployed in the region on the 17th and 18th April has been identified as Commandos and Border Security Forces from Hunnan Province.

The arrested and the ongoing arrest of innumerable Tibetans have resulted in overflowing of all the prisons in Tibet. Many arrestees have been transferred to other regions of Tibet and many others to prisons in China. Several imprisoned Tibetans have been released. However, due to brutal torture and starvation, the health conditions of the released Tibetans are in very poor health. Moreover, all these prisoners have been forcibly asked to pay a fine ranging from several thousand to several ten thousand Chinese Yuan for their release.

In other unreported case, on the 18th of March, a group of monks belonging to North Taklung Monastery of Phenpo Lhundrub District organised peaceful demonstration at Dhamshung District headquarters but no further details are available.

In view of the critical situation in Tibet, we appeal the UN and international community of the urgent consideration of our following demands:

1. Immediately dispatch independent fact finding delegations to Tibet
2. Immediately allow free press to cover the whole of Tibet
3. Immediately end the brutal killings in the whole of Tibet
4. Immediately release all arrested and imprisoned Tibetans
5. Extend immediate medical assistance to the injured Tibetans
6. Allow free movement of people and provide access to daily needs

Have the chinese forgotten THE JUNE 4 INCEDENT; Better known as TIANANMEN SQUARE 1989?
Then:
The Chinese people were protesting against Exactly the same oppressive regime that the Tibetan people are suffering today.
Official statistics vary according to the source of information but according to:
The Chinese Government....200-300 DEAD and INJURED
The New York Times....400-800 DEAD and INJURED
The Chinese Students Organisation and The Chinese Red Cross....2000-3000 DEAD and INJURED.
Surely then, as Nrty Nrty explains, that Tibet is, and always will be a part of China, Isn't it the same struggle as the free thinking, peace loving people of China have been fighting for years? And isn't it then, as much the Chinese peoples fight as well as the Tibetan peoples?
I think that the "pro Chinese" against the freedom of tibet as an autonomous land, sound as colonial as the countries they was so addamant to condem and critisise.

Nach Jahrzehnten chinesischer Repression hat sich die Frustration der tibetischen Bevölkerung in Straßenprotesten und gewaltsamen Unruhen entladen. Während die Welt wegen der bevorstehenden Olympischen Spiele auf Tibet schaut, rufen die Tibeter die Welt um Hilfe für einen Wechsel.

Die chinesische Regierung hat angekündigt, die Demonstranten und Demonstrantinnen, die sich nicht ergeben haben, "zu bestrafen". Ihre Führer treffen gerade jetzt eine wegweisende Entscheidung zwischen brutaler Eskalation oder Dialog, die die Zukunft Tibets und Chinas bestimmen kann.

Wir können diese historische Entscheidung beeinflussen -- China sorgt sich um seine internationale Reputation. Chinas Präsident Hu Jintao muss zu hören bekommen, dass der Erfolg von "Made in China" und der Olympischen Spiele von seiner Wahl abhängen. Aber es braucht die schnelle Reaktion einer Masse von Menschen, um seine Aufmerksamkeit zu gewinnen und wir brauchen diese in den nächsten 48 Stunden.

Chinas Wirtschaft ist vollkommen abhängig von den "Made in China" Exporten, die wir alle kaufen und die Regierung will die Olympischen Spiele in Beijing nutzen, um sich als als neues China zu feiern, als anerkannte Großmacht.
