SPW Rogall has started a topic:

After 11 years I lost my friend Sam, the tomcat who gave his portait as my avatar.

This happend due to a sudden thrombosis which turned out to be incurable.I wonder if I will ever come closer to a pet (actually rather a "Person" than a pet.

He shall not be forgotten & his face will remain with all my internet activities.

For a new problem I´d be glad to hear from your experiences, advices, ideas:

The new problem..........is a black tomcat who sat on our front porch two days after Sam was buried. The newcomer turned out to be a homeless & sick old (maybe 15 years or so) uncastratet shabby cat which we adopetet after trying to feed him for 3 days. Trying to feed him menas, we appreciated food but did`nt eat it. The day of adoption we took him to a veterinaire center where he stayed 3 more day, triying to get his kidneys woork again. Obviously they do now to some degree but he`ll need water infusions (subcutane) each day (we can do it on ourselves, at home) & a special diet. This treatment will give him & us some more weeks, months or years. Without he`d be dead in one or two weeks because he can`t resob enough water by drinking alone.

If one of you has helpful experiences, advise etc. on kidney-sick cats please let us know.
