► Jazz Off The Wall

Anlässlich der 40. Ausgabe von "JazzAscona" im Jahr 2025 präsentiert die Stadt eine Open-Air-Strassenkunstausstellung unter dem Titel "Jazz Off The Wall".
Im Rahmen des Projekts werden vierzig vom Künstler Yuri Catania geschaffene Paste-Up-Werke auf dem Stadtplatz und im historischen Teil der Gemeinde zu sehen sein.

Recently I was cleaning up at home and found some old architectural drawings of mine. There are drawings where, on closer inspection, one can also speak of 'pixels'. So I took a macro of one of these drawings. Permitted? ;-)

► PIP 1: My whole drawing of a project in Bern (made in 1979). The red square corresponds to the macro. (Click on it for a better larger view.)

► PIP 2 – 4: My great idol in architectural drawings was => Helmut Jacoby. Born 1926 in Halle, Germany.
1947, Technical University Berlin (mechanical engineering),
1948 – 1950, University of Technology Stuttgart (architecture)
1952 – 1953, Harvard University, Cambridge, Mass. (graduate school of design)
From 1956, he ran his own office for design and architectural representation in New York.
His almost photorealistic drawings (eg. PiP 3) are fantastic!
He died in 2005 in Halle, Germany.

Die Perspektive eines Projektes in Bern, die ich 1979 noch von Hand konstruiert und aufgezeichnet habe! Heutzutage im Zeitalter von 3D-CAD schlicht nicht mehr denkbar! :-)

My own profession has changed a lot during my career. The pencil and the computer mouse should symbolize this. The red colour stands for corrections. But also for changes; for adjustments, for finding new solutions.
And the ruler stands for the accuracy that my profession requires.
Maybe you can guess what I am (If you do not already know). ;-)

PiP: Ich war scheints schon immer ein neugieriges Kerlchen. Hier prüfe ich gerade die Statik einer langstieligen Blume und bin dabei offenbar der olfaktorischen Wirkung des Gewächses erlegen.
Für einen weiteren Werdegang in der Botanik haben die Eindrücke allerdings dann doch nicht gereicht und ich habe einen anderen beruflichen Weg eingeschlagen. ;-)

Das "Schwarze Loch"

Spielereien mit dem CAD-Programm.
Vorgehensweise:
Mit dem Morph-Tool eine hyperbelförmige Linie um eine Achse drehen und zu einem Rotationskörper aufziehen.
Die Oberfläche des Körpers mit einer karierten Fläche radial überziehen.
Eine geeignete Lichtquelle installieren um einen Schatten im Loch zu erzeugen.
Rendern.
Fertig. :-)

Am 10.04.2019 wird das erste Bild eines Schwarzen Lochs veröffentlicht, das Astronomen mit dem "Event Horizon"-Teleskopnetzwerk aufgenommen haben. Das Loch liegt im Zentrum der 55 Millionen Lichtjahre entfernten Galaxie Messier 87.

Aus einer Höhe von 2 m sieht man auf der Erde theoretisch rund 5 km weit.
Die Abplattung der Erde ist dabei nicht berücksichtigt.

"Schritte auf dem Mond" – Deutsche Erstausgabe.

Apollo 11. Heute, vor genau 50 Jahren, am 16. Juli 1969 startete die erste bemannte Saturn-V-Rakete vom Kennedy Space Center in Florida ihren Flug zum Mond. Am 20. Juli 1969, 20:17 UTC landete die Mondlandefähre im => Mare Tranquillitatis auf dem Mond.

Aber Tim & Struppi waren schon 16 Jahre vorher da! :-)
Sie starteten schon 1953 von der Forschungsstation in Sbrodj, Königreich Syldavien, mit der Experimentalrakete X-FLR 6 mit einem neu entwickelten Atomantrieb und machten bald darauf ihre ersten => Schritte auf dem Mond.
Und ich bin stolzer Besitzer einer deutschen Erstausgabe dieser spannenden Aufzeichnungen! ;-)

Have a guess! (brain teaser)
Imagine pulling a rope around the globe (which is a perfect sphere) and tensing the rope tight. Now you add 10 meters to the rope and distribute the rope around the globe so that it is equidistant from the globe (see sketch above).
➽ What is the distance x between the globe and the rope?
➽ Do you think it is enough height for a fly to crawl down through?

Answer:
In the calculation above you can see that the distance is 1,59 m!!

And the astonishing point is: You can do the same with an orange (fruit) and it will give the same result!!
Well, mathematically not really remarkable, but imaginatively it's astonishing! :-)

~~... and there is an additional point that you may have noticed: on the globe above GB is missing. So the Brexit also is solved!~~ ;-))
Due to several complaints I have reinserted the British Isles. ;-))

By the way:, have you also noticed that longer texts are no longer completely translated by the translator?

Luzern – Wasserturm bei der Kapellbrücke, vom Rathaussteg.
Eine von vielen Zeichnungen, die ich während meiner Lehrzeit erstellt habe. Hier ein Beispiel aus den Anfängen. Sie zeigt eine der meist besuchten Attraktionen von ausländischen Touristen in der Schweiz: die Kappelbrücke in Luzern.
Später hat sich dann mein Stil etwas geändert. :-)
