This was basically an excuse to cram in a whole bunch of filters which all do similar things: Conte, Mezzotint, Chalk/Charcoal. A little Motion Blur helped tie them together. Wheeee!!

The main pattern was adapted from a 1928 book by Raymond Subes called La Ferronnerie D'Art. It's found its way into a couple of other collages, too. But I haven't uploaded the photos themselves yet. I will one of these days. They're gorgeous.

I got obsessed with using as many different Blending functions for that same old 1940s brocade as I possibly could. (I think the final count was four.)
