A couple of new friends from the D.C. area wanted to meet up with me  in the Green Swamp Preserve to see what we could find to photograph. I also asked my good friend and photographer, Kelvin Taylor, to join us.&lt;br /&gt;
 &lt;br /&gt;
For some reason, probably the drought along the coastal plain, the orchids were at least a week late getting started. But we did find a few that were in bloom. The scene-stealers, though, were the multicolored hybrid &lt;b&gt;Milkweeds&lt;/b&gt; that we found growing along the roadside.&lt;br /&gt;

A couple of new friends from the D.C. area wanted to meet up with me  in the Green Swamp Preserve to see what we could find to photograph. I also asked my good friend and photographer, Kelvin Taylor, to join us.&lt;br /&gt;
 &lt;br /&gt;
For some reason, probably the drought along the coastal plain, the orchids were at least a week late getting started. But we did find a few that were in bloom. The scene-stealers, though, were the multicolored hybrid &lt;b&gt;Milkweeds&lt;/b&gt; that we found growing along the roadside.&lt;br /&gt;
