The centerpiece of the Island of Tenerife in the Canary Islands. This place on Earth has to be seen to be believed. A cablecar runs almost to to the top of this volcano which is also covered in snow during some Winter months

Just west beyond the hotels and bustle of this wonderful town there is a stretch of water were large roaring waves are born. Normally we see hoards of surfers in such places but on our high cliff walk we saw mainly kayaking. A series of three here.

Postcards from Armação de Pêra in Portugal to brighten up our Winter voting day mood. Maybe they got lost in the post for over six years now :)
This main capture taken from just at the edge of the main beach, which was one of the most beautiful town beaches that I have the pleasure to walk on. Behind me are large rocks with small caves and tunnels. Closer to the high rise promenade is a collection of small colourful fishing boats with their attendent fishermen attending to the nets.

Taken and heard whilst taking a stroll around the edges of the city of Faro, Portugal in the Summer of 2013. We heard this splendid guitar type music and looked up to see this musician happily playing here. Notice the cigarette hanging from his mouth.
Fado is a music genre that can be traced to the 1820s in Lisbon,

A reminder of sun, warmth and a beautiful seaside. The sloping tree is an Algave plant that can grow many metres high and is seen often at an angle like this.
