NSW, Australia. I liked the green flash.

The Pacific Black Duck is mostly mid-brown in colour, with each feather edged buff. The head pattern is characteristic, with a dark brown line through the eye, bordered with cream above and below and a dark brown crown. The upper wing colour is the same as the back, with a bright glossy green patch in the secondary flight feathers. The white underwing is conspicuous in flight. Young Pacific Black Ducks are similar to the adults in plumage.

The only flowers in our backyard at the moment. Our garden is newly established, so not much happening, although good rainfall overnight.

We do have Gazanias and a few Agapanthus flowering in our front flower bed.

Photo of a section of the 83-metre-long mural which was commissioned by Stockland Forster in July 2020, and opened 13 November 2020... a collaborative submission from local artists Lara Went, Donna Rankin, Shannon Crees and Nicole Bramble.

Described as a tapestry of vibrant colour, the mural incorporates a nod to the local Worimi Community and represents the iconic beauty, people, places and history found in our local area.

... relaxing after a busy day yesterday. A visit to the Vet, she was not impressed. Diagnosed with feline alopecia, followed by a therapeutic hormone injection, as the Vet thinks it is caused by a hormone imbalance.

Taken 24 November, *place marker for 25 November, as I forgot to take a photo yesterday.
I probably would have taken an Agapanthus shot anyway, as they are flowering profusely now.

Inspired by the still life paintings of Clara Peeters.
52 weeks of 2020, week 46... Ode to the Masters... Raphael, Donatello, Michelangelo or Leonardo... For this weeks challenge we would like you to recreate the mood, feel and style of those old masters listed above or any of their contemporaries. In particular your shot needs to extol the virtues of light and shadow interplay. You can either recreate an existing work of art or just opt to copy the style, you can do a still life or a portrait or whatever you feel would be suitable.

Clara Peeters (active 1607–1621) was a Flemish still-life painter from Antwerp who worked in both the Spanish Netherlands and Dutch Republic.

Peeters is the best-known female Flemish artist of this era and one of the few women artists working professionally in seventeenth-century Europe, despite restrictions on women's access to artistic training and membership in guilds. Peeters specialized in still-life paintings with food and was prominent among the artists who shaped the traditions of the Netherlandish ontbijtjes, "breakfast pieces," scenes of food and simple vessels, and banketjes, "banquet pieces" with expensive cups and vessels in precious metals.
