These are the last photos of Yosemite National Park I'll be posting. They are both of a sunset from Half Dome View along the Big Oak Flat Road in Yosemite. Both were taken with our phones.

I have jut a couple more photos to post from Yosemite National Park and then will go back to posting photos from our trip to Europe last summer. This is Upper Gaylor Lake in the northeast part of Yosemite.

This was part of the trail from Upper Gaylor Lake to the Great Sierra Mine, an abandoned silver mine on the northeast side of Yosemite National Park.

The last day in Yosemite we hiking the John Muir Trail to Lower and Upper Cathedral Lakes. This was the view to the northwest from the shore of Upper Cathedral Lake.

Mule Train

This photo, taken by my wife with her phone, is a mule train just starting down the trail from Upper Cathedral Lake. There were, if I remember, six mules loaded with gear for trail maintenance.

Campsite

This was our last campsite in Yosemite where we camped for one night sleeping in the car as we often do when traveling. We left the next morning for home. For those who are unacquainted with such campgrounds the box in front of the car is a bear box, a place to keep food and other items safe from bears who will break into cars or recreational vehicles for food and other scented items.

From Lower Cathedral Lake we hiked back and around to the upper lake of the same name. This is the upper lake with Tresidder Peak in the background.

As we hiked from Lower to Upper Cathedral Lake we came through an area that had been burned, this tree killed by the fire.

I hate having my photo taken for obvious reasons but my wife always insists on it. After hiking to Lower Cathedral Lake in Yosemite there were two other people there, one of them obviously skilled with a camera and my wife persuaded her to take some photos of us with our cameras. The lady's skill with a camera, however, did nothing to make a better photo of me. Anyway, here we are, and at least the lake and my wife are worth looking at.

While my wife sat and relaxed after hiking to the lake, I did some exploring around Lower Cathedral Lake (in Yosemite). This photo was take from the north end of the lake and shows Cathedral Peak in the distance.

This is Lower Cathedral Lake in Yosemite National Park with Dozier Dome in the background. The last day of our stay in Yosemite we hiked the John Muir Trail from the Tuolumne Meadows Visitors' Center to Lower Cathedral Lake and then backtracked a ways and hiked to Upper Cathedral Lake.

The third day of our stay in Yosemite National Park, we hiked the John Muir trail to Cathedral Lakes, hiking to both lakes before returning to the Tuolumne Meadows Visitors' Center and to our campsite.
