Looking southwards along Redcar Prom, from near to The Stray [cafe].

There's a lot of substantial groynes here, which arrest the southwards longshore drift of the beach materials [sand, pebbles - and at the moment, loads of smelly seaweed]

Sadly almost all of the orange & redness went while I was finding my camera.

Just before sunrise.
In the short time it took me to get my camera, and come outside the red colours had mutated into the bright orange. Definitely a cold start to the day !

Morning twilight began at 07:11 with actual sunrise at 07:53 on 21st November 2025.

On the cold side atm and the wrong time of year for much in the way of a "dawn chorus" --- however, some "high energy" bird food will be put out shortly.
Later on the birds were mobbing the feeders, but politely !

The last hurrah of the sunset on 17th January 2025 - it started off as a thin orange stripe on the horizon, as the sun actually set. For the next half an hour or so, there was a gradual increase in pink / red colouration on the underside of the clouds. A few minutes after I took this, the red really began to fade away and it was all gone within 15 minutes.

The clouds were a very deer red & quite frankly "glowering" earlier. There are some lennies [lenticular clouds] whose edges are glowing with reflected sunlight ... sunrise is just about to happen. [at 08:19 GMT / 55deg North].

Significant amount of colour tonight - and an interesting "ripple" in the clouds. Sunset was at 16:02.
Still some snow on the ground and it is quite chilly.

Red sun in the morning ... was quiet and dry at first but went very wet and very windy by the time we were driving over to Whitehaven. It was sunny there and calm enough to get her into the water.
