Between 1734 and 1745, this cart track from Moos in Passeier (South Tyrol, Italy) to St. Leonhard was blasted into the rock wall.
"Well established for pedestrians, but only passable as an emergency", wrote the chronicler Beda Weber. It was not until 1900 that a road was built. The old cart track is now only a footpath. (On the right, a wayside shrine of the Catholic Way of the Cross, 1st station: 'He who sweated blood for us.')

This old cart track is now only a walking path. Among other places, it leads to the fixed rope route Stuller Waterfall.

Zwischen 1734 und 1745 wurde dieser Fuhrweg von Moos in Passeier (Südtirol, Italien) nach St. Leonhard in den Fels gesprengt.
"Gut eingerichtet für Fußgänger, aber nur zur Not befahrbar", schrieb die Chronistin Beda Weber. Erst um 1900 wurde eine Straße gebaut. (Rechts ein Bildstock des katholischen Kreuzwegs, 1. Station: 'Der für uns Blut geschwitzt hat.')

Dieser alte Fuhrweg ist heute nur noch ein Spazierweg. Dieser führt unter anderem zum Klettersteig Stuller Wasserfall.

Mouse-ear chickweed. Thrives on lime-poor scree in alpine to nival altitudes (2,000 - 3,500m), where actually only lichens and mosses occur. (Seen while descending from Grosser Ilfinger (South Tyrol, Italy) to an altitude of approx. 2,550 m.)

Einblütiges Hornkraut. Gedeiht auf kalkarmem Schutt in alpinen bis nivalen Höhenlagen (2.000 - 3.500m), wo eigentlich nur noch Flechten und Moose vorkommen. (Gesehen beim Abstieg vom Großen Ilfinger (Südtirol, Italien) auf ca. 2.550 m Höhe.)

The picture shows an iron sculpture in honour of the great mountaineer Heini Holzer. It stands at the entrance to the summit via ferrata on the Großer Ilfinger (2,581m, north of Merano, South Tyrol, Italy) and can also be reached via hiking trails. The inscription: "Climbing is not a game with life, but with the mountain."

Das Bild zeigt eine Eisenskulptur zu Ehren des großen Bergsteigers Heini Holzer. Sie steht am Eingang des Gipfelszustiegs auf dem Großer Ilfinger (2.581m, nördlich von Meran, Südtirol, Italien) und ist auch über Wanderwege erreichbar. Ein steiler Grat, der an einer Seite senkrecht und an der anderen 45 Grad schräg abfällt. Technisch ist das leicht zu bewältigen. Aber man braucht man gute Nerven. (Fotografiert im Klettersteig Heini Holzer oberhalb von Meran (Südtirol, Italien).)

Eine wandertaugliche Mini-Drohne - die YUNEEC BREEZE - liegt sogar schon im Schrank. Aber Outdoor war mir bisher immer das Erlebnis selbst wichtiger, als es zu filmen.)

Der Klettersteig Heini Holzer oberhalb von Meran (Südtirol, Italien) wurde ganz offensichtlich zu touristischen Zwecken angelegt. Denn solch aufwändige Hinweistafeln findet man anderswo kaum. Bleibt zu hoffen, dass das nicht die Falschen anlockt. (Bild aufgenommen von meiner Frau.)
