Constructed in 1841 by the Bristol and Exeter Railway Company, Bridgwater Docks served as a major gateway between Somerset and the Bristol Channel&lt;br /&gt;

i stood behind a lady taking a shot on her phone and it felt like an opportunity for some unusual foreground interest!&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
The Fallen Moon is a creation by artist Luke Jerram,    &lt;br /&gt;
Created from NASA data, the sculpture is a giant 10m diameter replica of the Moon, presented on water. The artwork is 350,000 times smaller than the real Moon with each centimetre of the internally lit sculpture describing 3.5 km of the Moon’s surface. The installation is a fusion of lunar imagery, moonlight and surround sound composition created by BAFTA award winning composer Dan Jones.&lt;br /&gt;

&lt;br /&gt;
The principal surviving element is a substantial 15th-century gatehouse in Decorated-Perpendicular style, forming the north side of what was once a courtyard house. It features a rectangular plan with an east wing, polygonal turrets added later (with glass bearing initials possibly of Alexander and Margaret Hody), (Grok x)&lt;br /&gt;

&lt;br /&gt;
Parts of this building would have been in place during the Battle of Sedgemoor, fought just outside of the town, this was the last battle fought on English soil,&lt;br /&gt;
Monmouth Rebellion battle, Somerset, UK, 1685,&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
The roof tiles of the Pan Tile pattern were made in one of the many Brick and tile yards within the town,&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
The Old Vicarage is now a thriving and popular business! HWW!&lt;/div&gt;</description>

In return for their good care, they were employed, mostly in agricultural work and could be seen walking freely around the town with their yellow patches on their backs. The camp later housed German pows, And as a child i well remember them visiting our village at North Petherton many were welcomed into houses for tea and cake, often swapping stories with my father, in return they brought ships in bottles and a small wooden car for me, &lt;br /&gt;
We had two or three regular visitors sadly I have forgotten names,&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;

(Large view for detail as always) 1 note and 1 pip of night market from roughly the same place. HBM!&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
The main products were the red bricks and Double Roman roof tiles, These products ended up all over the world: the Bronx in New York; China; Canada; Australia and New Zealand.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
The animal feed mill is now closed and the docks will be regenerated by the spring of 2026, The docks. which form the northern terminus of the historic Bridgwater and Taunton Canal, were earmarked for a £5.2m regeneration as part of the £23.2m Bridgwater town deal.&lt;br /&gt;

Merchant ships tied up on both sides of the river and steps for access can be seen built into the wall!&lt;br /&gt;

Storm Ashley sadly had other ideas and damaged the creation beyond repair, so all we have left are images, thank goodness for photography!&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
 HFF Friday, the fence is all around the dockside, A large view is much more rewarding!&lt;br /&gt;
