This is the ceiling of the garage where Stanley Kubrick edited '2001: A Space Odyssey'. It's just outside of London.

What you are looking at is Kubrick's alarm system wires that are attached to the ceiling.

We had the special privledge of getting a personal tour of the house and garage. It is not open to the public. We were very honored that the current owner gave us the tour.

Prepared for dinner!

London Bloomsbury Hotel's delightful restaurant. Of course the butter is hand churned! The hotel was the epitome of elegance.

The hotel now has a copy of my husband's poetry book, American Cycle, in it's Seamus Heaney Library.

But how could I tell it was London if it wasn't raining? (Of all the times I've been to London - a total of 3 - it's only rained one day out of 30.)

(Yes, I know the photo is somewhat askew. I like it that way. When I straightened it it was static, and even though the fire isn't lit, the slight angle give it a bit of energy.)

I don't normally post images of paintings from galleries, but this very small part of a larger work seemed to be more in the style of found art, and so here it is. One could easily miss this corner of the painting and I think it's worth looking at.

yes, the painting is large, but this area isn't that big at all yet has such incredible detail!

does anyone know who the painter is?

The closer I got to the painting, the more realistic the bas relief appeared to be. How do they do that?

One last one to guess the painter, if you are so inclined. Yes, it's in The National Gallery.
