The centrepiece of Merton Street is Merton College, founded in 1264. But Merton College is on the opposite side of the road. So, whether this building has any connection to Merton College I don't know :-) I will have to check things out on my next visit, I think :-)
Below is an Extract from 'OXFORDVISIT' -
"Merton Street is one of Oxford’s most picturesque and historic streets, offering a unique glimpse into the city’s medieval past. Located in the heart of Oxford, it runs parallel to the High Street and is home to several significant buildings, including Merton College, one of the oldest and most prestigious colleges at the University of Oxford. Merton Street is steeped in history, with its origins dating back to medieval times. The street’s cobblestones and narrow layout give it an authentic old-world charm that reflects Oxford’s long academic and architectural heritage. Walking down Merton Street, you are surrounded by buildings that have witnessed centuries of scholarly activity and historical events."

Designed in a simple gothic style it opened in 1865 and is named after the gospel writer St Luke, the patron saint of doctors. Since undergoing a full refurbishment in 2010, the chapel retains features such as its bell tower and pre-Raphaelite stained-glass windows.

Life & Mind Building, Oxford.
Affectionately known as LaMB :-)

From Oxford University -
"The Life and Mind Building is the largest building project the University has ever undertaken. It will significantly improve the way psychological and biological science is undertaken in Oxford, helping scientists to solve some of our major global challenges. It will be home to the Department of Experimental Psychology and a new Department of Biology, which will combine existing Departments of Plant Sciences and Zoology. The funding and delivery of the building has been undertaken in partnership with Legal & General."

When I took this photo back in July the building was in the final stages of completion. I was here the other day and the building is now open. This view is kind of from the rear and I don't know if I was actually allowed to be wandering around here :-) But, no-one stopped me so that was good :-)

The Beecroft Building is one of the buildings forming part of the Department of Physics, University of Oxford. The building is named after its part-funder Adrian Beecroft. The building is specifically focused on theoretical, condensed matter and quantum physics. It was officially opened on 17th September 2018.

The building provides high quality office space for theorists above ground and state-of-the-art laboratories below ground. Architects Hawkins\Brown worked closely with contractors lead by Laing O'Rourke and the department to create a building for the next generation of Physics.

Probably, most everyone already knows that the Google Nik Software Suite is now free to download :-) I found out this news t'other day and it came as a very big and very pleasant surprise :-)

I understand that the software suite was originally priced at around $500 but when, in 2012, Google bought it the price dropped to around $150. In a move on 24 March 2016 that surprised the photo industry Google went a step further and made the entire suite free of charge!!

Needless to say I have now downloaded the suite :-)

For this Oxford shot I have used the 'Monday Morning' filter. Hence my tenuous link to "Monday Monday", one of my fave Mamas & Papas tracks. I love this cover version by Foxes & Fossils :-)
