Mulleys Motorways SF55 FVP, a Plaxton Beaver bodied Mercedes-Benz Vario new in November 2005, was working the 1440 service from Stowmarket. Mud brought on to the roads from the fields by the agricultural machinery makes the buses very dirty along this rural service - particularly during the sugar beet harvesting period. The vehicle was clean at the start of the day (0630) but had already got its first coating of dirt by the time it arrived at Bury St Edmunds at 0815 on the inter-worked service 377 from Brettenham. At the end of the day, just after 1900, it wasn’t looking anything near decent but a good wash down soon got it back to normal - ready to get dirty again on Monday morning! The farm features a number of houses and a former gateway tower built in a matching style. The tower had been restored in recent years following a period of deterioration.
