Quite a crowd of people have come to watch the new IoMSP ferry "Manxman" as she berths on the Edward VIII pier in Douglas Harbour, July 2023.
She is carrying Captain Stephen Carter, the senior pilot for Douglas, in his last official engagement before retirement.

The little vessel with red funnel is the tug from the "Laxey Towing Co." and owned by Captain Stephen Carter.

Passenger-carrying certificates and dedication plaques. Annoyed that the lower one is illegible because it is an inscribed mirror.

[On the bulkhead, just as you go into the cafeteria having gone past the doggy lounge.

Ben-my-Chree doing her pirouette in the harbour at Douglas, after which she'll back onto the linkspan on the Edward VIII pier, nearer to the camera.
Mannan often uses the linkspan on the Victoria Pier - the outside [north face] is currently occupied by "Corinthian".

The linkspan berths are all empty as none of the ferries are at Douglas.
No idea where Mannanan and the Manxman are at this time. I presume the former is somewhere between Douglas and Liverpool, but Manxman was in Douglas earlier in the day ...
Ben-my-Chree will arrive shortly.

Mona's Queen [?] on the inside of Victoria Pier.
There's something with twin funnels berthed on the outside of the same pier ...
and a steam crane on what's now the tanker berth, not far from the site of the lifeboat station.

A small image of the Isle of Man Steam Packet's two ferries. The nearer one is the MS "Ben-my-Chree" manx for "Woman of my Heart" [in service - 1998] and the one further away is the HSC "Manannan" in Douglas Harbour.

The wake produced by the water jets from "Manannan" as she makes the crossing to Liverpool, I estimated she was doing around 35 - 40 knots during most of the passage.

Looking over the stern of Manannan at her berth in the ferry terminal at Douglas. The red objects are "buckets" for controlling the directional outputs of the water jet propulsion system.

Still waiting for the call for foot passengers to disembark.
The car & waggon drivers are already assembling on the vehicle decks.
{most of the HGV trailers are unloaded by "tugs" driven at quite a speed by their operators, parked up to await collection by the on-island tractor units}

View from the observation deck [just above & behind the bridge] as Ben-my-Chree approaches Douglas Bay, Isle of Man.
I think the mainly white buildings framed by the aerial array are on Onchan Head, with Douglas further to the left.
